Ok gang, we need to help our friend.

Many of us made Mike Salem a promise early in the year, that if Salem made it to Williamsburg, we would help him get there.

I encouraged Mike to make plans last week, just in case. He reserved a rental van, knowing he could cancel it at no cost if it wasn't needed.

Mike's brother has agreed to drive the van, I believe. So that means the only cost will be what the van rental cost are. I don't know what that will be yet, but if we all can give a little, it won't be very expensive. Maybe as little as a few dollars each.

I'll post more details later, after I get with Mike. Feel free to contact me via the conversation feature, or for those of you that have my number, feel free to text me.

It looks like we might need around $300 or a little better to help Mike get to Williamsburg.

If we can get 10 people to agree to $30, or 20 to promise $15 dollars, we can get him there to see his beloved Spartans.

A quick nod here, or directly to me via the conversation feature would certainly be appreciated. We will make arrangements to collect the money after we know we can get him there.

DP, count me in. Do you have to have a premium subscription for the conversation feature? I have received a few before from Mike, but didn't really see how to start one myself.

New wrinkle, my brother is bringing me. His 2 sons 9 & 6 went last year and would like to go again. Trip to Williamsburg much harder with kids. Thinking I need to get a room for the night. Haven't checked but that will add to the expense a bit. Let me know what you think?

I had actually already wondered about whether an overnight stay would be a good idea with the extra distance. I have two kids almost the same age and know how difficult it can be for them to travel for an extended period in a car. I'd be more than glad to offer a few extra dollars to help cover that expense. Even if you don't end up staying, you can use it to buy them lunch and an extra hot chocolate or two. I think I have your cell phone number, so I'll text you today for the best spot to meet up at some point this week.
