Spoke to a senior manager today from Cspire and asked about the change in plans and streaming. That will only affect new customers to Cspire or customers that do not already have the Unlimited Smartphone plan.

He told me that Cspire had made the decision to grandfather those participating in the Unlimited smartphone plan in. If you get the iphone or stay with your current phone, your rates and plan will not change. Streaming will be the same as it has always been. To get the iphone at the advertised rates, you will have to sign a new 2 year contract but your plan will be grandfathered in.

Hated to start another cellphone thread but this has been discussed on here for a couple of weeks.

Also confirmed the info by visiting the cspire forums and other customers are being told the exact same thing.

Now if Cspire would quit putting all their stock in the Iphone and get some half way updated Android phones. Android phones at Cspire are ancient (in cell phone years), not to mention the complete lack of software updates.. Have I missed an upgrade in Android or is 2.2 still the latest software release from them?

They're getting the Galaxy Nexus that has the 4.0 ICS os. I think Verizon has timed exclusive rights for a bit, but I don't know how long it'll be till other carriers get it. That's the main phone I have my eyes on right now, and if C-Spire really is getting that then I see that as a big help for them.

And whatever was in the update, it fixed the Nuance Voice Commands finally.
