The stadium is going to be incredible when it's finished. One of the nicest in the country.

Why don't we boast 2nd oldest stadium in the nation? (I think). That should be put somewhere I would think

I can't wait to hear how loud the Bells will be upon completion...

The noise level should be substantially louder. I can't wait. Not to mention from a pure astetics point of view. Vastly improved.

With the success we should have next year and the noise level from the bells in the "new" stadium, Stricklin might as well get ready to go before the SEC aGAIN and beg to keep them. They only seem to bother anybody when we win and I`ve got a feeling they`re gonna be a real problem for folks next year.

Yes. Unpresidented. We're switching to Rugby. I understand that Prime Minister David Cameron will be in attendance.

I read somewhere that Georgia Tech is going to build a new stadium. If that happens, we will have the oldest stadium in the nation.

2nd oldest in Div. I-A, on or off campus. GA Tech is the oldest and there are no plans for them to build a new stadium.

Getting Old!

Hmmmmmm, I knew I was getting old but come on man....1989 photo in black/white...really? I was a sophomore that year. Reminds me of a quote of my youngest...."Dad, were you alive back before they invented color?" Nice, Rhodes Scholar may not be in his future after all.....

Optical Illusion

to me:

Last game or two, I seemed to think, this place looks a bit smaller to me,( now that it is being closed in.)

I like it.

Why is that building uneven at the end?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

It's going to look great. I like the bricked in columns (elevators?) on the ends of the West walkways.

The best part about this expansion is that it looks like it seats 75K when in actuality - it's 63K. They were very smart with this expansion even if it's not symmetrical Wicked Pissah.

I think it's safer to say we will increase by the same seat amount and not the same percentage. I would expect by year 2035 - we will be a shade under 80K.

No. College football attendance has peaked and is starting to trend down. I expect in 15 years, we'll be right where we are now in capacity.

And think how far its come in the last 15 years. The other night I was watching the 4th quarter highlights of the 99 Egg Bowl and had forgotten how small the East side looked before we added the skyboxes and the upper deck there.

Now I have to go to Youtube and watch it (yet again) and spend the next hour or so watching other clips that pop up...and end up Wallacing on the floor in front of the fireplace.

Seems like I recall it took a couple years to build that west expansion too. I think they started construction after the 84 season and completed expansion of the lower deck, quarter deck and press box area. Then over the 85 season they finished the west upper deck. I recall each home game getting to the stadium and marveling at the work done up there. Obviously there wasn't any web cam or Internet pics back then. Also sometime along that time a state of the art monochrome scoreboard was added. Which had cool displays, such as "nice catch!" "Defense" and so on. It was awesome back then.
