I am not comfortable knowing that guy was still paid over 150K from the Bulldog Foundation the year after his tenure as AD was over. As someone who donates to the Bulldog Club, it pisses me off to no end to think that some of my money is going into this *******'s pockets. Why the <17> did we pay him last year? I hope Veazy checks the records after the current fiscal year to see if we were still paying him.

BC donations pay for scholarships. The Bulldog Club and the Bulldog Foundation are two separate entities. <div>

Bulldog Foundation is a private group that supplements the ath dept with their own money.

MSU Foundation - Provides money for academics, not athletics.

Bulldog Club - Provided money for athletic scholarships.

Bulldog Foundation - Provides money for coaches salaries.

As to why we paid Templeton $150K, I suspect this was his buyout to "retire" quietly. In other words, Templeton didn't retire completely voluntarily.

....because I have to route my BDC donation through the MSU Foundation in order to get my company match. Takes an extra month or so, but both donation and match ultimately get to the Bulldog Club.

This "consultant to the league" bullshat no doubt arose as a carrot to templedick to go along with the "NCAA gun to the head" hiring of that incompetent fool. You gotta believe hairlip told the league he intended to be personally protected for "taking one for the team."

When things went south with Croom, I went back and read what Larry said about Croom at the time Croom was hired. He talked all about integrity, honor, character, etc. Pretty much all the good things you could say except....football. He made his choice based on lots of characteristics other than football.

And we got exactly what Larry was looking for. LT hired his dream candidate. It just shows what an awful AD Larry was. We got exactly the man LT was looking for and it sucked royally for us.

I don't think hiring a black guy was any kind of golden parachute strategy. It may have played in a strategy for the SEC not to penalize us harshly on the probation deal. But I still think the race issue was secondary to Larry's shopping list of character traits.

Since he will probably not do anything specific in 2011 to warrant a 2011 DDDY nomination, I'd like to nominate LT for the Lifetime DDDY Achievement Award, like the Academy Award folks do for career success when the actor never won an Oscar.<div>
