The Lane lovers on this board will have an excuse. If we only beat a 33-point underdog by three, they’d have a for sale sign in the coach’s yard. But Lane can do no wrong.
I’m waiting for our resident Lane Kiffin superfan patdog to give his input.
They are overrated as hell, but he has won 10 or more games there 3 of the last 4 years and is undefeated (lucky *** schedule I know). He has a lot of equity built up. I am a fan of Lebby but he is 0-10 in SEC play. This is not a fair comparison.
I’m not just talking about Lebby. People did it with Mullen and Leach too. Win a close one against a team we should beat down, it was like Armageddon on here.
Our fanbase in general is always looking for the other shoe to drop and negative and Ole Miss always think they are Nick Saban’s Alabama no matter how sh*TTY they are. Been that way my entire life. I agree with what you are saying in general, but in this case they have a coach that has built up enough equity that not even we would have many people upset with today if we won, other than the fact that expectations would be higher and we would realize we are overrated. I don’t think anyone would actually want the coach fired with Kiffin’s resume. His resume is much better than Leach or Mullen’s was here. And they were good coaches. But not what Kiffin is.
I want to believe this, but George has not looked good, florida is bi-polar at best, and I'm still not sold on OK (maybe I'm just not used to watching them play).
I’m not sure what to make of OM. 6-0 is 6-0 but they’re beating not very good teams by close margins.
Kentucky is awful and played OM within 7.
Arkansas fired their coach and was a fumble away from winning in Oxford.
Wazzu got demolished by North Texas and lost by 3 in Oxford.
They are definitely overrated, but so are a lot of teams...ga, TN, TX, lsu, etc. I'm not giving om the national championship, but they can beat everybody remaining on their schedule. I do think they are basically a lock to make the playoffs, and if I learned one thing about them, it's don't count them out if/when they get in.
Is there a really good team this year? There’s not in the sec.
I guess the constant transfers have just made everybody inconsistent? It can’t just be the teams that can compete in NIL but didn’t pay under the table before.
There’s still good teams but no one can stockpile depth so if you get a couple of injuries it all of sudden changes your outlook. Theres no 5 star sitting on the bench waiting his turn when he’s a junior.
Yeah. The portal has a lot more to do with parity than NIL.
If the cards lined up right, Indiana should be ahead of OM. They looked better, anyway.
They might, but moving up that much seems unlikely to me. However, the Bears didn't impress anybody today, and Indiana did.
Good. The melt and ultimate fall when Florida , Oklahoma, and Georgia beat them will be that much sweeter
They really could play in the SEC championship game. They’ve got a really good schedule & im just not seeing anybody besides Alabama I’d pencil in that game.
