I see Forde couldn't miss an opportunity to drag MSU through the mud.

Curse him with nothing but wobbly tables at every restaurant he dines at for the rest of his life.

Yeah. That was really strange. I've been holding off on judgement of him, but that guy is a dick.

So, Yahoo is filing FOIA requests seeking info about Ole Miss recruiting and the CL is writing puff articles about high profile recruits visiting Oxford....... Nice job CL!

Kellenburger is too busy running down leads on what hat Corso might choose.

Key quote:
"One source with knowledge of the probe said the bulk of the potential violations relate to women’s basketball. The source said the current football staff of head coach Hugh Freeze is not believed to be implicated in any major violations, and that much of the football inquiry dates back to actions by a previous Ole Miss staff. Freeze is in his third year at the school. The source said there have been no new allegations, all NCAA interviews have completed and the school is waiting for the NCAA Department of Enforcement's next step."

In other words, it barely has anything to do with football, and nothing to do with the Freeze regime.

No doubt that Mississippi has Kellenberger in their pockets. I envy them for that, although I think Bonner does a pretty decent job too. I don't think you're going to see any Clarion Ledger sports investigative stories again. They're more of a recruiting newspaper these days and the stories they do run about either school are generally cheerleader pieces. They're just scrambling to try to keep as many of their subscribers as they can.

Perhaps Forde should take the time to learn what FOIA actually is and who it applies to.

Because they didn't get this info from a "Freedom of Information request". Or if they did, UM needs new lawyers.

I'm connecting some dots here, or at least playing conspiracy theorist. Forde comes to MS to write his POS article that we all read this morning where those of us with no shoes or education are finally getting a good football team. He states in said article that he rode to Starkville from Jackson with Rick Cleveland. That's a long time to talk about things. Next thing you know, there is another article by Forde that UM is under investigation. I may be jumping to conclusions but just seemed strange to me.

Also...as a sidenote...this POS article by Forde is the second article I have read this week that quoted William Winter. WTF? Because when you want to know about college football in MS, the guy you want to reach out to is Winter? The guy was a terrible liberal governor...not a football expert.

Second sidenote....Forde is still a POS.

Know what OM's 1959 probation was for?

An OM alum adopted a blue chip recruit to get him to go to OM. Seriously.

Serious question: Is there anything we could do to keep this guy from coming back that wouldn't cause some type of backlash? If the first thing he does upon arriving in Mississippi is write an article with heavy hints towards the states racial past and another about violations of the 2 major universities then why can't we just tell him to get lost?

Thanks for that 'liberal' nugget.... First, I would say this. A football article does not need to be a history lesson. That is where FordE is a POS. He doesn't write that about bama or auburn when they have an article and he sure as hell doesn't write about the backwoods *** hillbillies in Kentucky.

However, to even think that William Winter is not a wealth of knowledge on all things MS is just dumb. And, if you think Winter was a 'terrible liberal governor', then I really would rather you not represent that you are an MSU fan. If anything, Winter has tried to get MS out of its own way for most of his life. I would love to hear some of your thoughts on what he actually was 'terrible' about. Because his biggest claims to fame were: Improving Education and helping improve MS's image on race issues. What do you have a problem with there?

Why in the hell can people on this page not open the Pandora's box of politics here? We clearly do not agree so leave it to be a damn sports board.

What a dbag.
This summabitch needs to get the 17 out of my state. Both of his articles are terrible. Tell me he isn't attending our game? Take all that negativity and go elsewhere. How and why we were anointed this guy, especially since he hates MS, is beyond me. Thanks, Yahoo.

I don't much about Mr. Winter but if improving education was his biggest claim to fame then well.....it ain't all that improved. Just saying. But you're right, let's talk sports. We agree on that. Hail State!!

I know you guys will be shocked, but I think this article is just an attempt by Forde to lure readers to his site and of very little substance.

He regurgitated a dead subject about OM recruiting with a sensational title and then threw MSU under the bus for no particular reason.

MSU and OM both have huge games coming up this weekend and lots of attention from fans of NCAA football. What better time to put out a sensational article about both schools who have the focus of fans this week? It's an attempt to draw readers to his employer's site. It's clickbait for Mississippi Week on ESPN.

I don't have a media guide, but according to the coaches Twitter profile pictures, they have several coaches on staff during the violations. ****
