First, it is fortunate that his financial circumstances permit him to hire such a capable and well known trial and criminal defense attorney from the legal hotbed of Ashland, MS. That must cost a fortune. He should say a prayer of thanks that his family is capable of laying down that kind of money for his defense.

Second, purchasing $3000 in gas via a dead friend's credit card. "Well, she wasn't using it." Damn. You would think that someone with the wherewithal to hire Farese wouldn't need to scam gas money. Obviously, he doesn't do every well with the allowance his well off family sends him. Perhaps the probation should have included a financial literacy course.

Third, thank goodness the brass knuckles weren't in the indictment. Just thank goodness. Everyone can feel better about that.

Finally, nice hair.

was the fact that Kyle Veazey contributed to it. After all, we all know that he is the bearer of bad MSU news and is a closet Rebel.

notcheapku.

But, I would have to say that calling you and idiot or a dubmass for not knowing their financial status is probably more about sport and fun than reality.

Nutt Issues Statement Regarding Football Signee Hornsby

OXFORD, Miss. --
Ole Miss head football coach Houston Nutt announced here Friday that 2009 signee Jamar Hornsby will not play for the Rebel football team.

"I am releasing Jamar Hornsby and he will not be a member of our football team," Nutt said. "We wish him nothing but the best in the future."

A 6-foot-3, 215-pound defensive back, Hornsby was an NJCAA second team All-American last year at East Mississippi Community College after spending his freshman season at Florida. The Jacksonville, Fla., native was rated the No. 3 JUCO player in the nation by SuperPrep after totaling 111 tackles, eight passes defended and two interceptions as a sophomore.

Now we can sign him. When/if he gets out of jail he will already be in Starkville so it's just a hop, skip and a jump to Scott Field. I'm pretty sure Nike makes a football cleat that can accommodate an ankle bracelet.

a good guy -- just a little misunderstood. Heck, the guy didn't use the brass knuckels. Thus, you might even say that he is a compassionate humanitarian. When he stole a credit card, did he steal a live person's card? Hell, no. He stole a dead person's card so he wouldn't hurt anyone's credit.

This guy clearly needs a 2nd...3rd chance.

He's a worthless thug and he deserves to spend most of his days on this earth behind bars. He obviously wasn't phased by stealing a dead chick's credit card, and continued to do stupid **** across this great South even after given a second chance.

**This post is void if for some reason Nutt changes his mind and lets him back on the team.**

And I stand by my theory that you take any player whose on field performance outweighs his off-field problems.

Hornsby apparently did, but the fact that he'll be on trial during the season took him to the point where the problems outweighed what he could do for us on the field.

Too bad for us, on to the next one.

Seriously?

I mean, I think you take it case by case and weigh how "bad" the offense was (hopefully just one), but I don't believe in supporting criminal behavior by any means. Yes, I know a majority of teams have criminals on them. Yes, I know ours does too- no, I'm not happy about those either, I don't care who they were or what they did. I also realize coaches are judged by their win-loss record and are pressured into overlooking a lot of this junk.

But you wonder why there are so many freaking criminals in football.... there's no reason for them to stop. They know they'll be picked up by someone if they're good enough. And no, I don't care how unpopular this statement is- if you keep supporting this crap, the standards will only continue to get lower.

we could've used the guy to add depth to our secondary this fall regardless of what his star ranking was. That's all I care about. We have a solid starting group in our secondary. We're shaky after that.
