Freeze said in an interview that Temario Strong (6-1, 210 lbs freshmen DE) had about 10 sacks yesterday against their starters. Wow.

Remember when we didn't know if our defense was bad *** or our offense sucked? Mostly, our offense sucked.

Certainly the Bears dont have a true freshman that was a late enrollee and is 6'1 210 that is starting at DT and "blowing up" the starting OL...

If that's true, they may pull a goose egg in the...

win column this year. Good grief that is awful! Tulane just might have a chance against them if they don't learn how to block.

You're getting Strong and Gross confused.

Gross is starting DT, he's about 265. Strong is a DE on the scout team.

Still, a 265 true freshman DT that is blowing up the OL is probably not a good sign for either side of the football.

according to the spirit articles, gross is closer to

250lbs than 270 lbs. and he has been named a starter already.

It really is going to be ugly 100 miles to the northwest this fall. That offense is going to make Croom look like an offensive genius. I've got tham at 3-9, but there's not a game on their schedule that I think is a real safe bet. And that includes the Central Arkansas game next Saturday.

i remember our "sloan years' when in august

all the discussion was how we had this 400 yd per game offensive. by october we'd figured out we had a 400 yd a game defense. i thing strong may be a really good player but this sounds a bit ominous to me.

From the couple of times I've seen Strong play in high school, I think he's going to be a good player for you. But you're right, this is a lot more bad news about the OL than it is good news about Strong.

Make no mistake, Gross can play. He may be a little light at DT, but his first step is crazy. Very reminiscent of Peria Jerry, actually. He'll need to bulk up to handle SEC interior linemen, but he's going to beat plenty of guys on quickness alone.

As for Strong, I think he's more of a hybrid OLB/DE. The fact that he's scout team and blowing up their OL is a very bad sign, though. I've got them at 2-10, but anything from 0-12 to 3-9 is possible.
