It looks like we will not know whether the NCAA rules him eligible to to play this coming season until possibly some time in October. If they rule him ineligible I wonder if he will actually go to the G league or play in Europe. He is originally from France. I think he should enroll in summer school African American studies at the University of North Carolina and then he should be able to get his needed requirements quickly.

Just wondering how you know this timing? I saw the NCAA quoted last week, that they usually respond in 21 days... Of course maybe UK cannot ask for waiver until school starts? Not challenging... just wondering... thanks.

This is why I hope UK gets Williams. With everything that went down at Evansville, I feel very confident he'll get a waiver. Sarr truly feels like a toss-up right now. Obviously different players, but Williams would make a major impact, especially if Sarr isn't there to command the ball.

I read the October date on an article at aseaofblue web site.

The ncaa is not gonna grant this kid eligibility for next season. You're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think they're gonna approve the missing piece to an unbeaten Kentucky season

I sure tend to not get my hopes up when it comes to the NCAA doing anything that might help UK if they can avoid it. I really was curious what he will do and if he waits till the fall to find out then will he have time to do something else.

If they don't rule on him until October, then I bet he leaves for Europe a month or two before that so he doesn't miss the start of pro ball over there. I can't see him waiting until October to make a decision on here or there with the uncertainty. Unless they don't mind him joining a team over there at the last second with very little to no practice time.

I'm betting he will know one way or the other what he will do before students return in August. I just don't see him enrolling in August and then hanging around for 2 months to see what happens. Wouldn't make sense.

I know its Football but the Justin Fields transfer to OSU and his waiver to play immediately at OSU instead of sitting out took 2-3 weeks. I know its Football but with what Sarr has with Manning getting fired, and fired late in the process, not able to put his name in NBA Draft, and now that Steve Forbes will 100% back Sarr & am I sure Manning will help on this matter, and Coach Cal helping players in last couple of seasons to get waivers to play immediately should all help in Sarr getting his Waiver to play immediately and not sitting out a year. I hope the NCAA looks at all of this and knows it is a NO-Brainer and in the 21 day process grants Sarr Eligibility to play at UK this upcoming Season!

Just saw his quote from a piece by Ben Roberts in the HL last week, where he spoke with a supposed “expert” on NCAA rules and rulings, guy named Rick Allen:

“But based on the information that’s out there, I wouldn’t be optimistic,” Allen told Ben Roberts.

This could go either way, and there are some distinctions in this case which make it different, but basically everyone outside the UK camp that’s commented has said something similar to this guy. Several folks already have the big guy penciled in to the starting lineup....

If for some reason Sarr isn’t allowed to play, it would be funny if Cal would trot out an 8’-370 lb. giant that could just dunk it every time down the floor.

Negativity with no actual facts to back up your statements. I have no idea what the NCAA will decide, but if you live in a world where you only think negative thoughts, you will be in a unhappy and sad place. Be happy and hopeful and maybe good things will come your way.

OPs got a point tho. Sarr could just swing by Chapel Hill on his drive over and scoop up a bachelors degree to make him a grad transfer

I posted a link to several transfers that received waivers to play immediately last year. Based on that list I believe Sarr has a good chance of receiving a waiver.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. They don't like us or Cal and will do anything to screw us while letting others get away with murder. I will be pleasantly surprised if he is ruled eligible. He has support by his former school like our transfers get when they leave, but I will be surprised if that is even good enough for the NCAA.

Actually Sarr has a better case to get waiver than Williams, but neither case is a gurantee.
