Ok, someone had told me we were only taking younger players. Maybe I misunderstood
Men's soccer at the Olympics is an under - 23 tournament. Teams can only take 3 over age players. They do this to not take away from the bigger senior(i.e. "A" team) tournaments.
All we need is one player who speaks German. If he starts screaming at the French in German pregame they’ll just give up!
Also, most countries best U-23 players are already playing on the real national team so won't be at the Olympics. Olympic men's soccer is really just a glorified youth tournament, with a couple of marginal older players who couldn't make the real national team thrown in.
So, grouchy helicopter parents in the stands wondering when Timmy gets his time to shine.
Well, Gio Reyna won't be there so hopefully not. (for those who don't know, his dad who was a former US national team player did just that at the World Cup 2 years ago)
Olympics starts July 26th. Today is July 24th. Olympics are happening.

Crazy. 15 minutes of stoppage time, match never completed, then the tying goal disallowed after the match was suspended. I really think soccer referees and VAR are just making up rules as they go and competing to see who can get away with the most ridiculous bullsh*t.
Our players had to be pleased to draw France for the opening game. Nothing like playing the host team to start.
That’s a tough opening game for sure. Next 2 are New Zealand & Guinea. So we should advance.
