Starting with the multiple episodes of grown men throwing themselves to the ground and (fake) crying like little girls after every contact.

You mean, like they do in basketball?

Kyle Snyder goes for a gold medal in wrestling this afternoon. Not sure how I missed this one but it's a pleasant surprise. Another medal for the USA on the way!

Team rhythmic gymnastic, how's that even a sport?
It's not like the uneven bars, that looks hard.
Like the girls on the dance team cause they aren't good enough for the cheer squad.

They're probably just not human trash.
Or, more likely, they have nothing to talk about for these people; because other than putting a flag in the air and a medal around their neck, we don't give two ***** about them. They have to grasp at any little thing they can to make some type of buzz we think we might care about. I'm gonna go with that.

Mongolian wrestling coaches protest call by taking off their clothes.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...rip-down-after-unfavorable-decision/89076210/

Just saw the footage. Dude got what he deserved. It was a one point lead and he was behind on the tiebreaks. All the other guy had to do was push him out, and he wins the match. Instead, the Mongolian dude started celebrating and was rightfully penalized. Next time he will learn not to celebrate before the final second in a close match.

Yeah. I just wish something of significance could happen in soccer without a shoot-out. I'll never find that outcome legitimate. The entire tournament for men and women came down to what amounts to a free-throw contest.

I agree.. absolutely cant stand shoot outs. At least move them back further.

But i like the keep playing until score plan myself.

I don' t watch the news constantly, but I have't seen much discussion about this dilemma for the women.

Strange situation. Search on Semenya for more info about her.

Basically, she's a hermaphrodite (the politically correct term is now "intersex"). After winning a race by a wide margin several years back, she was forced to undergo a gender test. The results weren't publicly announced but unofficial reports indicate she has no womb or ovaries, and has internal testes which produce over 3 times the testosterone levels of a normal woman. Note: In Western countries, rare intersex conditions are usually corrected in infancy with surgery and hormone treatments.

After the test, the IAAF decided she would only be allowed to compete with women by taking drugs to reduce her testosterone level to an arbitrarily determined threshold. She agreed to do that. Her results declined, and she was no longer winning races.

This situation changed about a year ago when another intersex athlete from India filed a protest with the IAAF. It also was found that testosterone levels can be elevated in some natural women too, and it was difficult to determine the performance advantage. Would testing of all women lead to a "gender apocalypse"? An IAAF panel will make a ruling in 2017. In the meantime, Semenya was allowed to participate again without taking the testosterone-suppressing drugs. Her performance improved dramatically, and it was expected she might break the 33 year-old 800m record. (She won but didn't get the record.)

Gotta feel a bit sorry for her -- the ridicule and insensitivity. It's not like she's cheating or doping. “God made me the way I am, and I accept myself. I can't stop running because of what people say. It's their problem, not mine." -- Semenya

Thanks for the interesting breakdown. Very strange situation indeed.

Gotta feel sorry for women with normal T levels who have to race against her who basically have no chance. As a man against women she should dominate for the next 20 years.

Boogie may not be the hero Coach K wants, but he's the hero Coach K needs. He's come up big for the US in the end of the 1st and so far in the 2nd.

Definitely look better both offensively and defensively today with Cousins in the game. Anyone else can't stand seeing the douche Boeheim and K on camera together all the time?

Two out of the three games in the knockout round turned immediately upon the insertion of DeMarcus Cousins into the game. Killed Argentina, killing Serbia. Getting every rebound. Feels like he has 15 rebounds already and it's halftime.

Nice to see Durant play well too. Unstoppable FIBA Durant is positively frightening.

No idea how Serbia thumped Australia, who was clearly the 2nd best team I saw during this tournament. Serbia has only looked good against us when we were at our absolute worst. In theory this should have also been true about Australia vs. Serbia. What in the world happened in that game? Did somebody from Australia contract dysentery or something?

They bring in Carmelo who is struggling and Jordan who brings nothing offensively. Put Cousins back in and destroy this team.

I'd say Paul George is my MVP of this Olympic tournament. He's really the only guy who hasn't had a stinker game thus far. Good energy, played hard as all get out, super dependable.

The Cousins/Jordan combo has been great too. At least one of them has been excellent every game. Both of them have played well today.
