Starting to get the uneasy sense that the USA team is composed of members of the 'Participation Generation' where the main thing is to keep your self esteem intact.

The swimmers last night didn't seem too miffed at a fairly mundane and disappointing performance. The woman cyclist who was in first with 100 yards to go was a bit too okay with finishing fourth.
You obviously don't understand cycling. Terrible post.

And the men's volley ball team had several guys who played scared against a Canadian team that just played tougher.

Maybe the track and field teams and the gymnasts will be mentally tougher.
In the women's 4x100 free relay it is simple, add the times. Australia was clearly superior. We had a 800 meter swimmer swimming the anchor. The USA team knew they were swimming for second unless there was a false start.
As far as cycling, little skinny people are faster up hills. Big muscular people are faster on the flats and always win the sprints. Three people can ride faster than one and with enough time will run them down. She knew she had no chance once they caught her. If you want dominance, watch the basketball. Looks like both teams will beat the snot out of whomever.

Breaks get reeled in nearly every single stage of every single race. Rarely do they stay out if the group wants to catch it. She is also a climber vs 3 stronger flat riders. So when they caught her she was way past red.

Love it. One of our female swimmers (Lilly King) just called out a cheater from another country in an interview after a race.

Essentially said "I'm not gonna take you holding up your finger like your number 1, when you've been caught cheating twice".

NF's given by that chick. Good for her.

The participation generation you speak of in swimming has 19 yr old who set a world record at 15 in the London Olympics because she refused to pace herself...I very clearly remember the commentators saying she would lose bc she was pushing too hard too early...no she sucked it up and blew through it killing everyone.

One day isn't settling the entire olympics.

I do not pay attention to the exquisite tautness of their asses or the supposed pleasure they may provide. I am only interested in the mastery of their craft.

Hard to tell who won this race, but I think we can all agree that someone did.

Just think how good Phelps could have been if he'd never smoked the devil weed. A known performance enhancer.

Novice at this stuff. I know Phelps didn't swim in the prelims but still gets the medal because they said so. What about the guy he replaced that did swim prelims? Does he get a medal or does he get nothing?

Bad take Glenn. Pay attention. We're all on the same team. Sometimes I may need you to stand in for me while I bang the Chinese diving team. Thanks pal.
