Good article on just how dominant Katie Ledecky really is.

Thanks for posting. Excellent read. Wow she has a 39" vertical to add to her prowess.
Nice quote from article..
Usain Bolt is occasionally beaten. Serena Williams doesn’t win every Grand Slam title. Stephen Curry goes 5 for 20 now and again. But Ledecky has swum in 12 individual finals at major international meets, and has never lost.

“She’s the greatest athlete in the world today by far,”

You just can't beat the Olympics. Really the only time I ever care about 90% of these events, but man do I care. The swimming last night was incredible and about as patriotic as you can get in sports.

NBC with some great coverage other than the tape-delayed gymnastics and opening ceremonies. Some great swimming the next few days and once it's over, track and field starts.

Tell me there's someone in this thread who is hating on the Olympics..

America cleaning up as usual.. Phelps and Ledecky (who's the truth).. Men's Basketball is rolling.. Ross filling in great for Misty.. Dude's legs are breaking..Russia still cheating (China probably gonna get caught for fielding 12 year olds again).. all the while everyone rooting against USA.

It's been great so far!

Have they mentioned anything about the round marks on some athlete's shoulders? Several swimmers and at least half of the male gymnasts have them.

I'm pretty pumped that US women's soccer is looking good for another gold. It has to just burn the other countries that soccer isn't anywhere near as big here, and our women kick ***.

Round marks are "cupping therapy" Circular sucking device to help muscle pains etc.

Yeah it's that cupping therapy where they use heated glasses to increase circulation.

Personally, I'm not too excited for sports that I can see/hear about on a daily basis. Basketball is amusing because of how dominant they are, but soccer is still soccer for me. Neither really interest me that much.

Yet, ping-pong, volleyball, swimming, air rifle, gymnastics, rowing.. I'm on my feet yelling at the TV.

Good game in Women's volleyball, US pulled out a win over Netherlands.
US did spot them a lot of points from bad serves.

They're starting to pull away now, but men's basketball got off to a slow start against Venezuela.

For those interested :

Lots of swimming gold medal races tonight, men's team gymnastics gold, womens volleyball versus China.

Men's water polo is on now, on some other network. Wouldn't mind checking that out.. It's a lot harder than it appears.

It gets old fairly quickly. There's a lot of whistles for fouls and they mostly occur under the water, so it's hard to tell exactly what is happening. It's definitely a tough sport to play.

yes, Boogie had a rough game, too.
Venezuela though - I hate how they play; they'll foul every chance they get it seems. It's effective in its own way, but incredibly frustrating to watch.

just got done watching some swimming - Ledecky came in 2nd, shockingly enough. But hubby mentioned she might have done just enough to qualify, but didn't pour it on as she usually does.

And is that the 2nd night in a row that Brazilian men's swimmer choked in the end?

Sure there's pretty nice broads on the beaches of Rio wearing less.

Damn that Hungarian chick is a fast swimmer.
