That’s not good, heck even Lincoln is getting more violent with someone getting stabbed or shot every day

Hispanic gang banger shot a 61 year old whitey in a grocery store lot then thought he was Zorro and could take on a c-store full of cops. Bad decision.

"Big city" is scary.

I remember when they moved the high school wrestling championship to Omaha. The small town folk lost their minds.

"The crime!!!"

Crazy in Omaha, what with their violent crime rate being at historic lows: https://www.ketv.com/article/omaha-police-chief-todd-schmaderer/63334040

Same for Lincoln, violent crime is at a 20-year low, although assaults and car thefts are up.
Few things are more manipulated than crime statistics. Every city in America is seeing historic lows...according to the statistics.

Reclassification of crimes, underreporting by police, political pressure and changes in reporting rules account for most of these "historic lows".

I agree all statistics can be manipulated but they're a damn good place to start if you're not just talking out of your butthole. Sure, question reported statistics but don't question the guy saying someone is getting shot or stabbed in Lincoln every day. Tell anyone in any populated state or city that Lincoln or Omaha is dangerous and they'll fall off their chair laughing.

2 people shot inside of a Lincoln gas station today
I wonder if this will get reported by LPD as part of Lincoln's crime statistics, or if they'll just sweep it under the rug to not affect the crime rate?

Well if they are like our judges…. They will not punish a murderer who killed a man in cold blood last Christmas Eve. Oh yeah, and that shooter was high, and put over a dozen rounds at an unknown figure down range in the dark. Don’t mind the illegal, and illegally possessed rifle he was poppin a cap out of

No doubt taxpayers will foot the bill to dispose of his bullet riddled body. Can’t wait for the family’s lawsuit for excessive use of force. 50+ shots fired by six cops. Seems a little light. Must have not had time to reload. 🤔
First thing I thought was “oh damn that’s some concentrated fire”

I am actually staying the night in Omaha tonight for the first time in over a decade. My anecdotal thoughts are that it feels like an actual city in the sense that you need to be aware of the dynamics around you. Not a shock to me having lived in the Denver area for quite some time. But it strikes me as different than my thoughts/memories of Nebraska in general.
