Langs is calling plays in a reactionary fashion instead of being proactive. I think Riley should call the plays from here on out especIally later in the game. I wonder if it's possible for it to happen around the fourth quarter?

Langs doesn't know how to call a run first offense.. he can call some running plays here or there in a pass first offense, but he doesn't really understand or know how to do a run first game and how to playcall that. I am not sure Riley is any better at that or not.. it might be worth trying, but it's probably best to let the coaches call their game and their system, and put the personnel in that fits it the best. This means you have to change the QB and put in a better passer.
Langs inconsistent play calling and inconsistent RB rotations are killing the offense. Nobody knows what to do and who will be in the game.
Yesterday was heartbreaking for me to watch. The staff seems totally willing to look in the mirror which is a great thing. And maybe Riley is not trying to pull the play calling from Langs... and that's why he looks defeated. For Langs own good he needs to help the young coach. Sometimes everyone needs a little help.
I totally agree with you rrt on Janovich. He is heart and soul personified. I would literally ride him from here on out. Make him Tommy's personal assistant in the offense. Ride him and get Tommy on the edge.
This. Look, there's a lot of very smart football fans created by watching efficient and winning teams over the years in Lincoln. It's not that difficult to tell when a coach isn't getting it. Let's hope that light goes off in Langs' head and soon. Crazy how we spend millions of $ to let coaches cut their teeth in Lincoln.
