When the firing of coaches starts midyear, it just snowballs. Use to schools waited until after the end of the season. I look for Norvell to get the axe soon.

I must say, I'm almost 75 years old and have been watching football attentively since about 1960. I've never seen coaches dropping like this in mid-season - not ever. I think this could be a Franklin-level opportunity for both him and Florida.

I believe a lot of this is media-driven and social media-driven.

Coaches are under the microscope around the clock. 7 days a week you have talking heads pontificating about this coach's future and that coach's future, making declarations about what programs should do.

Coaches used to be able to weather storm, but not any longer. There is unrelenting pressure from media and social media.

I really think it's the ADs, Boards of Trustees, and presidents who can't weather the storm. The college athletics landscape is very volatile now - manic even.
