I heard this was coming several days ago, but was told it may not happen if UF won this week. Apparently the powers that be had their mind made up regardless.
I believe a lot of this is media-driven and social media-driven.I must say, I'm almost 75 years old and have been watching football attentively since about 1960. I've never seen coaches dropping like this in mid-season - not ever. I think this could be a Franklin-level opportunity for both he and Florida.
I really think it's the ADs, Boards of Trustees, and presidents who can't weather the storm. The college athletics landscape is very volatile now - manic even.I believe a lot of this is media-driven and social media-driven.
Coaches are under the microscope around the clock. 7 days a week you have talking heads pontificating about this coach's future and that coach's future, making declarations about what programs should do.
Coaches used to be able to weather storm, but not any longer. There is unrelenting pressure from media and social media.
Well, yeah. I guess I meant that coaches aren't allowed to weather the storm.I really think it's the ADs, Boards of Trustees, and presidents who can't weather the storm. The college athletics landscape is very volatile now - manic even.
