"One Night in March" 50th anniversary airs this Friday at Hollywood Premier

In 1963, a basketball game captured the national imagination and influenced a state- and sport- for years to come. It is the story of an unwritten rule that fostered prejudice and segregation. It is the story of how a university president, his head basketball coach and their players risked their safety and their future by defying that rule, a governor and legislature, in 1963 Mississippi.


"One Night in March," the documentary that first chronicled the story of the 1963 Mississippi State Basketball team and their heroic trip to the NCAA tournament, will make it's local debut this Friday, February 22 at 7:30PM. held at Hollywood Premier Cinemas. The film is part of the Magnolia Independent Film Festival, Mississippi's oldest film festival. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the Hollywood Premier box office.

The 50th anniversary edition contains over 20 minutes of new photos, footage and interviews about that historic event. It has been produced in full 1080 HD and will available for sale on DVD and BluRay.


"One Night in March" will also air statewide on Mississippi Public Broadcasting will also air the documentary March 9 at 6PM and March 28 at 9PM.
