One positive from tonight: Woodruff was very impressive

Don't want to get my hopes too high yet, but if he figures things out, that's huge for this team.

Yes. Any help he can provide is huge. Having this good of an outing on FR night in Baton Rouge, even though it wasn't a start or a win, is great for him moving forward.

Bingo. Woody is gonna get drafted and will be gone. Hopefully, he can be our

Friday night guy by regional time.

I say start him against Southern. Give him no more than 70-75 pitches.

If successful, let him be available on the weekend for an inning or two. Start him on Friday night game against Missouri. Best way to work him back in and build confidence.

He only faced 15 batters. He could easily start on 3 days rest.

I think he starts Friday or Sunday against Ole Miss. Fitts hasn't earned a win since the Holy Cross disaster of a series. Now may be when Cohen makes another switch in the rotation.

Maybe Woodruff has issues with starting but can come in early and finish a game. Just a thought. Everyone feels that he has MLB talent so maybe it's the mental aspect of starting or preparing to start.

I would be surprised if Brown pitched anymore this year. Shoulder problems raise a red flag. It's a far different beast than elbow problems. It also concerns me how many arm injuries/surgeries our pitchers have had in the last few years.

All I am saying is that I highly doubt Cohen and Butch choose to run him out there as the starter on Tuesday. Could he do it after throwing 75 pitches last night? Yes. But WILL they make that choice? Doubtful. And if they don't, the three days rest will have had SOME impact on that.

Pat, I will chalk that one up to you.

Even though he didn't start which was the crux of the discussion, he pitched more than I thought he would. If he pitched at all, I was betting an inning or two. Either way, it's great to see him throwing it so well. If we could only find some bats.......the arms are there for a deep run again.

I heard mark hudspeth has a brother named Clark who's dream job is coaching pitchers at msu. He didn't go to msu nor has he every publicly said that his dream job is msu but I've heard it from people close to him. Don't question what I'm saying because I'll start using random capatilization in my replies. There's going to be some big time positions opening up and if we don't get him this year this will probably be our only shot. **

It's kind of a split. He went an inning or 2 more than you thought and an inning or 2 less than I thought. Agreed that it's great to see him starting to pitch like he did as a freshman. And that our bats are killing us.
