the damn reasons for bitching about Stans will change as soon as one wears out. One moment bitching about Stans chewing someone out, the next bitching because Stats won't chew someone out because his boys are in the huddle.

Opinions are just like ********, everybody has one, but as Maddawg stated, this same crap every day becoames a joke. If we win 20+ games, and we will, They'll still be bitching and Stans ain't going anywhere as long as he keeps us competitive and we better hope he doesn't, because when Coach, Fishwater, Arthur, Fraances, and a few others are roaming the sidelines, it is going to be embarrassing watching MSU.

But in fewer words......

Laughed out loud.

I agree with all of DB's internet ball busting of the lipless one. Stans has been my favorite coach here at MSU too. I don't think he is a bad guy, I just wish he would try some different stuff. I know that I could be completely wrong and some have pointed out good reasons why that may be so, but at least I am offering up suggestions on alternative lineups or different player management strategies? I think our team is talented and tends to underacheive; losing the close ones with Randy tossing up airballs makes my head want to explode. Rick is the one who got them here so props to him. I really do trust his handling of the situation, but aren't we all here to speculate?

I also move that DB's internet name be officially "Chief" like Peaches was for Coach34

the "Who could we get better that would come to little ol Mize State?" crowd that looked real stupid after football season. Ricky will probably keep his job, and we will be decent each year...and never make it to a Sweet 16...but by gosh we will have us some West titles

A serious question: How damn stupid would we look for getting rid of the all time winningest coach in MSU history that wins at least 20 games every year? Step away from your hatred of Rick and look at it with an outsider's perspective for once. Did you seriously think we would be 17-9 and 7-4 at this point in the season?

It's that the chances of us hiring someone better than him are pretty low (like 20% or less chance). Look at your favorite basketball school Arkansas. They fired someone with similar results as Stans and now 2 years later they're 1-10. Do you honestly think we have more to offer a basketball coach than Arkansas does? And if they couldn't hire someone better than who they had, why are you so sure we would?

unless we dont make the Tourney this year and next. I still dont see us in it this year, but next year is a given unless Jarvis leaves early.

And regardless of record, if we dont make it this year or next, he will be gone. That I do know.

Pelphrey took over a mess at UPig. They did have some talent, but they were all Sr's. He got them into the NCAA's his first season and then had to rebuild. In his rebuilding, he has wins over two top 10 teams. They have 8 Freshmans on their roster. Judging Pelphrey will come down to what they do the next two years. I'm betting they turn out to be a pretty fair team next year- they have two solid Jr's, and 3 Freshman starting. Always nice to have your starting 5 back for the next season.
I think its a 50%-60% chance we will hire a better coach. Hell, Polk got us to a World Series, but it was evident once the new regime took over alot of changes needed to be made for the better. While Ricky is solid, if we dont make the Tourney this year, its still one trip in the last 4 years- dont act like that is super successful...

But as I said, I expect him to keep his job another 5 years, stay around the top 3 in the West, and never make a Sweet 16. Nothing bad- yet nothing great

And it's not exactly like he took over a program that was in great shape himself. We were coming off of 2 straight losing seasons. We'll continue to agree to disagree, but I will say this. There are a lot worse fates than winning 20+ games per year. And I'm not giving up on that Sweet 16 either. We've come within a basket of it and if we can get that far, we can get there.

Ricky makes the Tourney next season- keeps his job- and finds the SEC West a tougher place to win titles with Kennedy, Johnson, Pelphrey, and Bammer's new coach providing more of a challenge the next 5 years.

Which means only one thing, and you'll never admit it.

we finally got to play some of the easier games of the SEC West so we could win a few

Remember, back when you were telling us how Stan Heath was a better coach than Rick Stansbury. And now we find out that he left their program in a mess.

Heath got fired for doing the exact thing Stansbury does- make the Tourney from time to time? Mess was in discipline only.
