Spinning the football after touchdowns, interceptions, and 1st downs. I’m not sure why they never called it but we did it a bunch.

spinning a football after the whistle is illegal in college football, classified as an act of unsportsmanlike conduct. This rule prohibits actions like throwing, spinning, or kicking the ball a distance that requires an official to retrieve it, or any other act that delays the game or is seen as disrespectful. The penalty for such an action is a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty enforced at the succeeding spot.

Booth did a pretty good spin after a TD, and I thought maybe the rule had changed because the official was looking at it and didn't throw a flag. I don't really see anything wrong with spinning the ball, but prancing around in some sort of "dance" looks ridiculous. However, even if paid professionals nowadays, they're mostly still teenagers and will do showy things.

One reason is we didn’t have MTN West BYU officials calling the game.

I had a bigger problem with the quality of our spins. Most were duds. I say if you're gonna spin....learn to do it right . **

Damn we are back baby. If we are complaining about ball spinin rather than penalties, missed blocks or lack of qb pressure, we are back. Book your trip to Atlanta

If we’re getting penalties for spinning the ball after touchdowns, that’s a good problem to have for this team.

My problem with over the top celebrations the last few years is they are performed when we absolutely suck *** overall, down by 28 and acting like Superman reversing the spin of the Earth after making a tackle, getting a first down and acting like we just won the Super Bowl, etc, etc, etc.

Not going to be that many touchdowns this year. Might as well do it while you can.

Well, if it is still illegal, then most every team I've seen on TV this weekend did not get the memo because I've seen multiple players of multiple teams do it, and nobody has gotten flagged yet. Just sayin . . . . .

My interpretation of a player spinning it basically at his feet doesn't fit the rule as it doesn't really go "a distance" - but that's just me.

I think the NCAA has loosen a lot of those rules. They let you celebrate all you want as long as you don't get in the face of the other team.

Since the players are now all getting paid legally, I vote they be allowed to SPIKE the ball after a TD. What the heck!
