Probably would have been more, but Martin Pomphrey ran all the Dudes out of his section for eating nachos.

But still a top 10 crowd, with regard to the national scene. I would however, like to see us up there with LSU and UM again, as far as attendance numbers go.

..when you drive to Starkville to watch our 4 NBA players lose to Akron & Georgia, I can understand how the fanbase is gun shy headed into baseball season.

Add Arkansas to that list. They had 7,400 for their SEC opener last week.

However, there are about ten times more people interest in UPig in the Fayetteville area compared to people interested in State in the Starkville area.

I will add this.........number 1 on the athletic departments to do list, after this north endzone expansion, is to renovate Dudy Noble. Or at least extend the stadium (chairback seating) down to the foul poles. It sounds petty but those bleachers are not comfortable to watch a game from. You want to attract bigger crowds? You are going to have to draw families from further out.Which means givingthem something other than a bleacher seat anda concession stand for entertainment. You have got to providecomfortable sitting and up the entertainment outside the playing field. Unfortunately going to baseball games requires more entertainment than just the game itself for today's family.

Yeah I'm sure there were thousands of people debating going to the game and said "man remember than basketball game against akron 5 months ago? Let's stay home.". You say some stupid things.

South Ms, most of Al, middle to E TN and Georgia had crappy dangerous weather today. Might have been perfect in Starkville game time but fans don't just drive in from two hours away.
