maybe in Andy’s metro strongholds but not the rural part of the state

The logistics of storing and transporting these ultra cold vaccines. Doubt many rural hospitals have the super cold freezers needed. The yet to be approved AstraZeneca vaccine just needs to be a refrigerator temperatures.

The vaccine can be transported and stored for weeks using dry ice, that's not the hold up unless someone is making it be.

I know several LTC facilities in EKY have been vaccinated. Staff and residents who want it. As I said in the rona thread, I also know my local HD totally botched their allocation. Politicians, administrators of physician practices, and receptionists were given vaccine before some providers...

Operation Warp Speed was a huge success. Operation Distribute the Vaccine, being dependent on state and local governments to administer, has not been so successful.

Have you ever had a project at work, where you every so gently and carefully carried the ball, had everything set up perfectly, only to hand off the ball to a co-worker to do their part in the project who proceeds to drop the ball and eff it all up in ways you could not have even imagined? That's pretty much what's happening now.

The Governor of my state has not been vaccinated and says he will not be until all people over 65 receive theirs. The priority is 1) Health Care workers 2) nursing home patients 3) those over 65 years of age. Then the general population.

We are currently in the over 65 phase (3). There are 40 million vaccines already manufactured and millions on the way. Use them and get politics out of it.

We have been lied to again. Again, we are not prepared as we were told we were.
People are dying by the seconds.

We were told that 20 mil would be vaccinated by the end of the year.
Less than 3 mil actually given the vac.
Too many given vac that were not head of the line people.

I would much rather sing the praise of WARP speed than this post if it was possible.
WS is both development & people getting shots. When work started, "experts" outside the process of developing/testing/making were claiming that the earliest a vaccine could possibly be available is Summer 2021. So it is a complete success.

Additionally, setting aggressive goals always gets you to the endpoint sooner even if you don't meet the original goal. That's not failure. Also, the claims I've seen said enough vaccine would be available for injection by the end of the year. I believe that's been met.

The biggest issue is states' distribution systems being slow. Makers are not sending out vaccine till the states order the lots. They can't be blamed for the states' inactions. Net, if there's blame, it's 90% on the states.

Yep dry ice (I have read of there being some shortages) and can be kept in a refrigerator for 5 days. The Moderna vaccine needs only -20 which is much more common.

My wife is a healthcare worker. The hospital network that she works for receives the vaccine at a central facility and then distributes it to their various hospitals. Employees sign up for a time slot to get it. Her dept. is at ~25% because they wanted to stagger when they got it in case of side effects. The organization is holding back the second dose so that they know they will have it when needed.

Another hospital in town has reporting on their vac numbers: 796 yesterday, 4064 ytd.

I have heard that the hospitals are not getting information from the state about when they will get more vaccine. I have read that the states have had trouble getting information from the feds about when more is coming. I am optimistic that things will speed up as we get over the learning curve for distribution.

Moderna doesn't have to be stored ultra cold.

Again, Andy beshear has been TERRIBLE at actually running the government.

Let's review.

A. Worst in the country delivering unemployment
B. At the most critical time, early in the pandemic we were among the worst in testing
C. Among the worst in distributing the vaccine.

He's a joke.
The unemployment system was inherited and that **** doesn’t get fixed in a short time span. There are archaic computer systems in place that need to be completely scrapped and replaced with something else. That’s the type of change that takes years to get fully implemented.

I checked this morning with my doctor and they said they wouldn't even know for a couple of weeks when they'd be getting the vaccine? How can distribution suck that terribly?

You were told by every illustrious liberal numbnut that the possibility of a vaccine before the end of the year was a pipe dream at the highest level.

You need to sit this one out.

Lord Andy yelled at a local Walgreens for giving out vaccines to peasants on Xmas Eve! [laughing][laughing][laughing]

Elsewhere, privileged states are complaining they don’t have enough money to give out vaccines.

These people are so predictable.

Dose lots are 975 & must be stored quite cold. Just how many doctors' offices have 975 patients meeting the qualifications to get a shot as well as enough storage? Pharmacies can do that.

Maybe he should have thought of that before he arbitrarily forced everyone onto unemployment.

Not sure you can blame the unemployment checks on him. He inherited the system and who could have for seen the level of claims.

lmaoo he paid a company halfway across the country to handle it. They didn’t, so he paid them more money.

Somebody should investigate that misuse of funds.

His Daddy was Governor for 8 years and never fixed it. Like his Daddy never funded pensions. He is a horrible leader. He is a loser.

I wish I was in a critical national security position like Mitch McConnell's intern that brings him coffee every morning so I could have gotten my vaccine from the Washington swamp slush fund supply they heisted from the supply meant for the elderly and the emergency first responders.
