As a healthcare professional , polio was beaten with 23 years of research and a vaccine that was 99.5 % effective. Try again
M.D.? Epidemiologist? what does "healthcare professional" mean? I know plenty of PHd speech therapists that are "healthcare professionals."

This virus is here to stay. Once the big pharma money is out of the way, prophylactic treatments will be the new norm. Name one other corona virus with a vaccine to the levels of the previous diseases mentioned. None
Name one that killed a million americans?

I bet Nancy or Barack didn’t require anyone to be vaccinated for their massive gatherings 😂. The only people the government and government entities want to control is normal old people.
Until you can engage in a debate without referencing politicians or the "other" political party, you are not debating, you are following an ideology someone has written for you.

You don't have to have a medical degree to see that the shot is both safe and helps stop the spread of the virus. There are a small number of exceptions to every rule but the overwhelming evidence is that the shot helps stop the spread (and mutation) of the virus, just like the government mandate for the smallpox shots helped stop almost all of those deaths.

There isn't one. Obviously, other diseases have over history, but I doubt that any particular coronavirus has ever killed over a million Americans.
So we should just sit on our butts until it does.

If you don't think this is serious and hasn't disrupted millions of lives then I don't know what to tell you. Take this thread for instance, it is on a sports blog and what are we talking about?

I don't doubt that it has "disrupted millions of lives"- and it never should have happened to the extent that it did. The lockdowns were the greatest unforced error in my lifetime. You can blame the politicians for that.

And what about the shots? I took two by the way, and never experienced the slightest difficulty, and will take another if the EXPERTS recommend it. I am also glad I helped stop the spread of smallpox.

Who are the experts you listen to?

Not experts like Bill Gates, that's for sure. Gates didn't even graduate college, yet he is constantly interviewed as a medical/pandemic expert by the MSM. With experts like him, no wonder half the American public thinks that this thing is the Black Death revisited. That's only one example a media "expert" from whom Americans get their information. I don't even know what you're talking about, as far as "the shots" go. I took mine, one and done.

Well I don't go to him for medical advice either, but I do think he is a very smart and successful man. But isn't it a fact that most of the medical community WITH degrees in that field recommend the shots, both to stop the spread and to make the effects more manageable?

Yes, I would certainly think that most of the medical community would indeed recommend vaccinations, and that's fine. Theirs is not to mandate- that's for the legislatures and the courts, and we'll see what happens.

When did we become a society that refuses to believe in science when it tells us things that we don’t like to hear?
Those that think climate “science” knows where the forever climate changes are going aren’t critical thinkers.

Who are the "experts" that you do rely on, besides yourself of course. And is your degree in the medical field?

I was valedictorian of my (small) high school class, made straight A's my first two years in college, graduated from UK with a BSEE in engineering, and I wouldn't for a minute rely on anyone but medical experts for medical advice, certainly not myself. And they for the most part seem to agree that the shots are our best alternative to live through this, AND have the least disruptions, including our sports interests.

But go ahead and believe whatever you want to, and good luck.

Congratulations on your resume- although you seem about half way nuts at times, I never did think that you were dumb. I don't like to post information about myself on a message board, so I will have to pass on your challenge. Despite your impressive intellectual credentials, you appear unable to understand my point from my last response. I wasn't arguing against the idea "that the shots are our best alternative to live through this etc". This thread isn't even about whether a person should or should not get the shots.

Yes, but no one is recommending that you go to Bill Gates for medical advice, the problem is that you don't want to listen to the vast majority of people that are medical experts that for the most part agree on a lot of things you are too stubborn to accept. Like a lot of other "experts" we have.

Would you be alive today without your doctors and their medicines? Honest question
Where would I be without my immune system? The vaccine only is effective because of the immune system. I took the vaccine but will not get a booster. We have to build natural immunity. The vaccine is a great bridge.

I guess I misunderstood then, what are we talking about? And yes, you should have a right to your opinion, whether it is right or wrong, but I think we are all in this together. And it seems the experts are mostly in agreement on the course of action to take, and that does include taking the shots. I shudder to think where we would be without them, but a lot of the young and healthy people (including some of our football players) aren't that interested in what is best for everyone.

Ive never had polio…vaccine likely had something to do with it…

Count yourself lucky, polio sucks! Back in 1917, there was no vaccine, and I got the polio. It was worse than my herpes, IBS, borderline personality disorder, and gluten intolerance all put together.

But listen people...

Don’t take this offensively, but I literally don’t know what you’re trying to say.

I have no ******* idea either. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was using voice to text in a noisy car, and was actually praising AD Barnhart.

The "laughing" symbol seems to follow whoever posts last, so it appears (To me any way) like I am laughing at the post instead of agreeing with it. And it does the same to the next poster.

So while I am agreeing with the post it appears I am laughing at it, until it laughs at the next poster.

Hey man, how am I driving?

Good stuff. Seems like at some point in the near future (unless there is a mutant strain worse than Delta), with the number of people who have been vaccinated and the number of unvaccinated who have caught Covid, that herd immunity will be reached.
Looks like dying is the only cure for some of them.

Should I call a Vet, or just take the livestock medicine? Seems like most on here don't want to take the Doctor's advice, they are smarter than them.

By the way, congrats on being over 104, hope I make it.

Everyone I talk to says that you can't trust the media, so they don't watch main stream media. Yet, they continue to blame mainstream media for everything that is happening. "The media is driving this" is an absolute excuse.

Probably affects everyone differently, but I am sure all those those doctors and others pushing the shots are just trying to get you sick.
That’s not even remotely what I was trying to say but whatever have a good day

Public health has turned political. How f’n stupid and sad.

Where were Moms For Liberty when I was required to receive a plethora of mandatory vaccines to attend public school in the 1980s?

Muh freedom to contract whatever the hell infectious disease I want to. YOURE NOT THE BOSS OF ME!!

Those damn educated people, and their damn educated decisions.

Fancy book learnin’ ain’t gonna tell me wut to do teaching all that witchcraft like the scientific method and proper research techniques. I done seen a new video of a guy wearing sunglasses sitting in a truck yellin’ at the camera. His wife is a housekeeper at my local hospital, so I know what the “medical community” had to say about the virus hoax. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!!

<Lights cigarette in crowded restaurant>

Ain’t no local government regulation gonna take away my freedom to kill myself slowly in public. I have rights dammit!!

I've still yet to see an explanation of why someone would not be willing to take the Covid vaccination.

And agree with the point made a few times that those of us from a public school background had to have mandatory vaccinations for many many years.

And, over 200m Americans have gotten at least one dose in the last 8 months.
FDA now with full approval of Pfizer.

And the evidence is clear, vaccines help.
