Sad ! Every friggen kid in this country plays soccer !!

Not even close.
You think Wimsatt played soccer growing up?

Or every NBA or NFL player?
Our best potential soccer players aren't close to playing soccer growing up.

Jacob Young would have been the biggest and fastest player on this team.

We'll never truly take the next step in international soccer until kids start thinking potentially making the USMNT is better than being a low level CBB or CFB player.

Hugo is one of the best shot stoppers in the world. But when put under pressure his distribution is poor.

I’ve heard that before and I don’t know that I agree with it. I think we have more than enough athleticism to be good in soccer. Do we ask football or basketball players to be gymnasts or skiers or swimmers etc but we are generally competitive in those kind of events and others. America is often the one of the top medal accumulators in the Olympics.

I don’t follow soccer to be an expert but imo what’s lacking is the skill or intuitiveness or vision that you’ll see from players in other sports. I do think it’s improved over the years but still not there for the top level.

Just caught up. Amazing win by Morocco (well deserved - man can they defend or what?) and France England has been very good so far. Great French goal and great saves by Lloris.

And now a PK for England!

Some rumors of Fernando Santos being fired by Portugal. If we decide to move on from Greg B I think Santos should be on our short list.

Nice save by Pickford. Such an entertaining game.

Spoke to soon lol - what a great ball by Griezemann and good header by Giroud, but he did get a break on the small deflection off MaGuire - otherwise I think Pickford saves that.

Not an expert but it seems to be me the ref is letting them play and calling equally for the 2 sides. Comment?

Worse PK I have ever seen Kane take. But I have seen others do it too, including Messi.

Maybe but in this game I think he’s been unsure at times creating more danger than there needed to be.

I agree with your shaky coming off the line comment.

Not in my eyes. I can count at least 4 or 5 very obvious fouls (including multiple near the box) by French defense not called. Awful. England was the better team all over the field.
