Simulators are awesome, Long story short, had a kid a few years back and have only been able to get out once a week. Had been a verifiable addict. Sucked losing my game. It would show up one in every five rounds, driver accuracy and distance fell off a cliff.
A simulator place opened down the street a few weeks ago and they had an introductory membership, unlimited off peak for not a lot of money. Not hard for me to take an hour during the day, so I joined. Man, what a revelation. Just started matching up club path to face angle and solved mysteries to much of what I'd always struggled with. What you feel isn't necessarily what is happening. To see the data ='s trust. Even chipping is an easy fix with the data. Still learning what all the data points means but I'm a better player all of a sudden than I ever was. Topped out at 4.2 hdcp but thinking I'm going lower as soon as the scores kick in over the next few weeks.
Was never going to spend $8k, much less the $60K some do, to own one. Never felt comfortable shelling out regularly to go to a simulator place. I guess a lot of ranges now have the data but there isn't one anywhere near me. Its been a revelation.
Anyone else on the sim?
