Week Zero starts off with a bang. We'll be going to see Bergen Catholic vs RBC at RBC next Friday. #1 vs #4 to start the season, it doesn't get much better than that.

I have a buddy reffing the Central Reg vs Hamilton game tonight. he'll let me know wether games will be moved to Saturday or not. Sucks when some great matchups could be impacted by $hitty weather and yes I know it's football.

This YouTube channel did a GREAT job covering the Delbarton games vs Bergen Catholic and Hudson Catholic game last year. Better than the games you have to pay to watch.

Can’t wait to check out some of their 2023 games.

IIRC last year NJ teams did not do well against out of state competition. Let’s see how they match up this year. Bergen Catholic is only NJ team in Maxpreps Top 25 at #23.

This game has some juice. The RBC kids were apparently saying theyre better than all the teams in the big north.

They are a tremendous channel. They provide a real professional type of coverage. I watch a ton of their games.

Yeah. They mentioned Rutgers a lot in a great way during their Hudson Catholic/ Delbarton broadcast. But pretty damm good quality, a lot better than those NFHS games you pay for.

@tico brown I was gonna go to Wayne Valley/Notre Dame to see Surace play but it got postponed.

Gonna watch Toms River (best public in NJ imo) vs Millville at 4.

Then my alma matter West Essex (who still frustratingly runs the wing t) vs Haddonfield at 6. Haddonfield is so well coached, pleasure to watch them.

My guy Manjh former St Joes assistant is now the head man at Glen Ridge in year 2 and they havent won a playoff game in 40 years but hes got those boys ready to go. Gonna watch that at 7pm.

I love this **** man haha. On my lunch break yesterday went to Hanover Park Lyndhurst scrimmage. HP is gonna be a pretty good group 2 this year, they have some talent. Their big early season test will be Caldwell end of September.

Irvington likely rolls. I saw camden play haddonfield last year and walked away disappointed. Camden had a ton of talent but their play calling was perplexing. Camden shouldve won by 40 instead they squeaked out a 7-3 win.
You’re talking about Camden (The High). Camden East Side used to be Woodrow Wilson and played a lot of Sophmores/Juniors last season to a 5-5 season. Finished by beating a 10-2 Camden team 25-2 on Turkey Day.

They have a lot of great players coming back. We’re supposed to play Hudson Catholic until it was changed to Irvington.

Another playoff quality game.
The kid Brooks on millville is fun to watch man. Electric with the ball in his hands.

I watch around 10 hours of high school football games a week on the offseason. You can get through a whole game in like 30 mins just fast forwarding to the actual plays.

Guy im friendly with is the OC at Bixby in Oklahoma. They average like 60 points a game. Check out some of their tape, it’s unreal. Hes the best HS OC in america imo. Was with him and the texas state oc (max leftwich) in houston back on february. Incredible offensive minds

He’s one of those players who you’d want to play for Rutgers. He’s one of THOSE guys but IDK why he’s not on the target list unless he really wants to go elsewhere.

My guess is smaller. Kirk’s system has never really had any small fast receivers. Usually big bodied receivers.

That might explain Brooks, even though he’s a playmaker with speed. How about TRN’s Jaylen Matthews? He’s the 6-8, 350 athlete that everyone says that Rutgers need on the OL. And he was well known as a freshman.
