I'm not saying ZW is good by any measure but the OL is horrible. My son could be the best OL on this team at his current 37 y/o and 225 lbs. lol just saying.

You haven’t watched a lot of NFL football. I’ve seen this crap for 50+ years. I’ve seen much worse QBs. There is this thing called an offensive line and they are suppose to block the defensive front. If they don’t, even very good QBs look like crap. Suggestion, next time you watch a game, don’t follow the ball for a few series, just watch the line play.

I've seen enough football to know there are worse.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut.

One or two great throws a game don't make up for 3 seasons of poor play.
Those last 2 drives also included 3 drops. A key first down run too (or at least those plays happened somewhere late in the 4th).

And I'm not going to hold the previous seasons against him. He's certainly playing above "worst ever" level right now.

Not saying he's good.

You can't overlook the first 59 minutes of the game. The Jets' second-to-last drive almost cost them the game. How many times are we going to watch Wilson hold the ball forever and take a sack? Throw the ball away. Simple football that even a Pop Warner QB can execute. People talk about Wimsatt looking down his receivers, it is nothing compared to Wilson.

I agree ZW is not a good quarterback but he didn't have enough time today to hold the ball too long.

That was true today, but there were times he held the ball too long as usual. Look at the sacks on the second-to-last drive. The second and fourth down plays ended in sacks because his brain locked up and he held it for 5+ seconds.

Unsung hero of the game. The official who, on the last play in regulation, hustled his butt off to get the ball spotted - and not a second too soon!

Goat of the game (almost) - Allen Lazard. Every Jet fan knew he had to go to ground immediately upon catching that pass. I assume every Jet player did too - except one.

Exactly. How do you take a sack (on I think the first down) when all you have to do is throw the ball into the sidelines. Then taking a sack on fourth down when you had like 5 or 6 seconds to do something. Just throw it up and give your receiver a chance to make a play.

"Just throw it up and give your receiver a chance to make a play."

Then we would be criticizing throwing an interception rather than holding onto the ball.

Well given the jets were on their 4th string center the entire second half I was happy with the win. Even when he had time he was typically under duress.

I posted analysis of ZW pre draft which is very telling and explains a lot about his challenges as a pro.

Disappointed JD didn’t make a move for OL - that would be needed regardless of AR is coming back next season - or this season for that matter.

Poor metro area football fans.
I sit down to watch the game and my seat isn't even warm before the follies begin once again

When you have an anemic offense that doesn’t produce a lot of points, the last thing you need is a guy like Lazard who seems to single-handedly kill a couple drives a week with drops or penalties.

Breece Hall with 50 yds on 16 carries.
What happened there?
Wilson having a better game than Herbert stat wise

That was weak. Feel bad for the defense - they an amazing. Gotta get tired after so many 3 and outs by the offense.

Too easy to blame ZW for their woes…but his faults certainly magnify the offense’s futility.

Going into the game it was known that San Diego is pretty good against the run.

If you have a decent QB and an at least competent OLine they are vulnerable to the pass and the Jets have neither.

Douglas gets too much of a pass for the OLine. Everyone focuses on the injuries but the fact is Douglas built the line for this year mostly with guys who had injury histories.

No kidding. ZW looks like Ken O’Brian - when he has time and can get in rhythm he’s fun to watch but the rest of his time he’s running for his life or on his ***.

Cris Collingsworth just had the line of the season after another Jets penalty:
"The refs are going to need Tommy John surgery."

Great line!!!!!!

ZW started out strong. Throws under 3 seconds and everything went to hell as the raider d had him running for his life.
