Closest approach to Earth coming up tomorrow. Rendezvous with Rama or "just a comet"?

There has been an awful lot of fuss made about something that is not even visible to naked eye. I just assumed it would be lighting up the sky at some point as it passed by...

Supposedly it'll be visible tomorrow with a small telescope or really good binoculars. I suppose if it becomes visible with the naked eye it's a Rama.

Some years ago Hale Bopp was visible, but it was a lot smaller than I expected. It was hard to find.

Certainly not visiting the Earth's. 170 million miles away at its closest point. We are closer to the Sun than we will be to 3I. Almost twice as far away. Talk about over hyped

I’m 100% certain this is nothing as far as trying to go out & see it. But very interesting from a scientific standpoint as only the 3rd interstellar object we’ve detected. But it’s just a comet. These interstellar comets have been passing through our solar system often for billions of years. We’ve just recently gotten good enough to detect them.

Have you guys read "Rendezvous with Rama" by Arthur C. Clarke? There were a couple of follow-ups to the first novel, but if you like science fiction the first was one of the better ones. Give it a shot - and hope that Comet 3I/ATLAS doesn't do a braking maneuver into Earth orbit. :) Actually, that would be kind of cool. I wonder what Avi Loeb will say tomorrow once it just keeps going on its merry way.

This guy is a geophysicist and does a great job being a nerd, but still making it interesting. He has an uncanny ability to predict earthquakes and their location based on the Sun's activity.

Well if I'm still alive and one of these things hits earth, I hope it hits me right on top of my head .
