Image living in a state so boring that going to a volleyball game is even a thing.

Imagine living in a state where the whole state comes out to support the state team athletics.

I've gone to Omaha & Lincoln twice & had a fun, fantastic time. Gotta get rid of the northeast everyone else sucks mentality & you find that there's a whole great world out there.

Nebraska is absolutely beautiful…with probably the nicest people I’ve ever been around. The sand hills and plate river valley are simply stunning outdoor places.

How many years (decades) would it take RU to reach that number?🤣

Call it whatever you want but they have the mist loyal fans in college sports. All sports… they had over 20,000 people at a women’s basketball game when their program hasn’t even come close to the level of success Rutgers has had.

For women's Volleyball. A world record. Per our good friend @huskersalways women's volleyball tickets Are the hardest tickets to get in Nebraska sports.

Love seeing this and seeing women's sports, in general, continuing to grow. Way too many people get too fixated on women not being as big/strong/fast as men and disparaging women's sports because of that. I prefer to simply enjoy the intense competition, teamwork and execution of women operating at the top of their abilities.

Event had a Guiness record type vibe
People knew they were aiming for record.
Fall term began on 21st so something for fans to do with football days away
My town once made world record pizza, cookie and sub.

My brother drove out to Colorado from Jersey with family and said the scenery and drive through the top half of the country was marvelous except for Nebraska.

Large area state with small population = not much to do but I can see why the concentrated population supports the state university at such a high level because they’re response would be “We’re all we’ve got.”

90k for a women’s [or mens] college volleyball game would never occur in NJ and at about 95% of the rest of the country.

The more biological men who can play in women’s sports the better for everyone: Keith Olberman.

Hold on, Nebraska sets an unprecedented world record for womens sports and RU fans belittle it. This just shows how little this fan base knows about college sports. Even if RU had a stadium that sat 90,000 we wouldn’t be able to sell that out for football unless half the tickets were bought by the visiting team. But you guys are going to make negative comments about Nebraska? Hell, remember when we had wrestling in the stadium before a football game to set an attendance record? Well Neb just blew that away. This made international news. When was the last time WE did anything positive that was note worthy?

Methinks you missed the joke.
joke adjacent, I'd say. A Nebby player had been arrested for robbing a smoke shop or something? Think I saw that somewhere. But the idea that there was a give-away of a vape product is weirdly funny on its own... but I wouldn't associate that with farm-bred Nebraska.

C'mon.. just because there are a few Rutgers fans that want to belittle this is no reason to dump on Rutgers and Rutgers fans, the majority of which would not dump on Nebraska. Kind of an *** move on your part.

So how do you feel about men invading women's sports?

It could take three or more home football games for RU to get that many people in the stadium to watch the Knights play.

oh yeah... not denying that. Worthy to be called out for it.. but not by throwing Rutgers and the rest of us fans under the bus. If I were to do a passive-agressive attack on the thing I would have said "Why hasn't this supportive community built them an arena to accommodate demand for tickets?" But that would be a dick-move also and one where we, as Rutgers fan, don't really have a leg to stand on.

Volleyball is a great sport... not sure I'd want to watch it in a football stadium.. in Eucker seats.. but, hey.. it was an event! And the people there will remember it. And the next time this Husker-support community does something like this it will be even bigger because of all those people who now WISH they had gone.

Are these posts really necessary? Why derail a perfectly good thread about a nice topic?
It's a perfectly legit question. The fact you run away from it is the reason this country is in a mess. I'll start, I love women's sports, never thought it was on par with men's sports but they have changed my mind! They are great athletes and just when they have fought to get to this recognition, people like you, who also love women's sports don't have the passion to call out this rediculance. I'm NOT trying to derail anything, I'm trying to simply ask you what your stance is on this and you don't have the gumption to offer an opinion.

Wrong thread. Even if you don't take it to the CE board it doesn't belong here.

I've posted my opinions on this elsewhere, but this isn't the thread for a discussion on this topic. If you want to start a thread on this topic, I'll weigh in there - not "running" from anything.

NJ has made its marks for trvial records.

"On 23 June 2019, during the Rocket League Championship Series (video game e-sports) Season 7 Finals at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the audience set a new record for a longest continuous wave lasting for 28 minutes and 35 seconds." Wiki

You are dumb as a stump… it was said tongue in cheek and here is why . I ‘m all in on women’s sports and I will defend all women’s rights to succeed in all aspects of life. First my granddaughter plays Little League baseball , and soccer against boys in Long Island. And she’s not intimidated nor do the boys say much. Why …because she at this age is better than most. She also realizes she one day will compete against other women as a woman . I see you missed your buddy Olberman‘s comments . So no weatherman I wasn’t derailing any thread . i just don’t support men playing and attempting to beat down actual biological females. How about you? If you were brilliant as you push to convince everyone maybe you would have realized your stupidity.

There was zero indication your post was in jest, zero. And yes, you've already derailed the thread. I don't give a rat's *** about what you think about this topic in this thread, as this thread is about a cool story about women's volleyball. If you want to talk about biological men playing in women's sports start a thread about it. And usually, the person lobbing insults about intelligence is the one most insecure about his or her intelligence - hence me not lobbing insults back at you.
