Hi All,
My name is Kenneth Billings and I am an alumni, and former writer and photographer for State. And lifelong Bulldog, of course.

For years I hung around the board under the moniker "Shutterdawg". After moving to California and the shift from the Yuku board, I took my current screen-name but have been more of a passive lurker in the last couple of years.

Last night I contacted Dawgstudent with a request and he gave me his blessing to bring this to the board.

Since moving to Los Angeles, I have been pursuing a career in entertainment as an actor, writer and producer with some moderate success. I am trying to build a following and generate some interest in projects that I am a part of. In this business, shameless self-promotion is essential - hence my post here today.

I have been a part of several projects and shorts recently, including a reenactment role in an upcoming episode of Tattoo Nightmares on Spike TV. I also have several exciting projects in production including two web-series and a short film I wrote.

My request from the board is simple. Please help support me and my career pursuits by visiting the links below, becoming a fan on Facebook and following me on Twitter. The first link is for a competition my most recent short film is entered in. The competition has a "people's choice" component carrying a top prize of about $70k in equipment. Please watch and vote.

On my web page and social media pages I encourage you to become active in liking posts, leaving comments etc. I want to hear from everyone...on here and on my SM pages.

I know I can count my SixPack brethren to keep me humble with their brutal honesty....my skins thick, so I can take it.

I sincerely thank you for your support. Hail State!
Kenny...

I like that you keep landing the "biker" role. Are you a biker in real life or do you just look like one?

Thanks to everyone who has shown their support.

I have several projects in the works, including a comedy series that stands a good shot of being picked up by Comedy Central.

Stay tuned and thanks again!

Thanks again to everyone who visited my pages, commented and followed me on Facebook and Twitter. Tonight is the last night to vote for Peace of Mind in the short film competition. If you feel so inclined, watch and vote.

This weekend I begin filming a new series that many of you will like and many others will find grossly inappropriate called "Toke and Choke Dispensary". It follows the day-today activities of a marijuana dispensary owners and his employees. It is expected to be released in August, but could well end up being optioned by one of several cable networks expressing interest. I will keep you posted.

Thanks Again!

Good for you following your dreams. I wish you the best of luck. Sounds like you're making good headway and connections so far.

At worst I think you could teach other actors how to get a southern accent down properly. Although I will say the Aussies do a good job with it.

I was always amazed at that. British do a fairly good job of it too. Seen McGregogor in Big Fish is the best example of this.

Funny you should say that. You want to hear something crazy? A few weeks ago I went for an audition requiring an "Authentic" southern accent. It was one of the rare auditions where we auditioned in pairs (keep in mind, I am originally from Miss. and my accent is real). The guy they paired me with was native SoCal. When the casting director called action for the scene this guy goes hokey..."Wee doggey, wood yee lookee whut we got aheer..." etc. in this absolutely ridiculous caricature of a southern accent while I delivered the scene in my natural dialect.

At the end of the scene, the casting director ( a brit who had a serious Evis complex - he had the sculpted hair, silk shirt with a popped collar, and - no **** - large, gold Elvis-Style sunglasses...inside) he looks at me and said, I **** you not, "His accent was much more authentic than yours. Have you ever heard someone do a Southern accent?"

O_O was the actual look on my face as I walked out of the casting studio....
