McDade's in Fondren just received a shipment about an hour ago. It will be gone by tonight. If anyone wants Abita Strawberry and you are close to Jackson or Fondren, you should go pick it up soon!

I have seen this come up on this board several times here lately. Does it taste like it dripped off the boobs of an SI swimsuit model or something? I have never seen this much hoopla around a bottle of booze.

It's ok at best. Nothing great. I liked it two years ago when I finally started trying anything other than Bud Light or Miller Light. Now that I've spent the past two years drinking and enjoying many other beers, I find that the strawberry is ok but not great. I would'nt bring a sixpack home if I were on a beer run.

That's the only thing I can think of. People swear by it, but I think it's just the setting that wins people over. After winter, I could probably drink a pint of cooking sherry or thunderbird if it was served on a patio while sunny and 75. I'd take the favorable reviews with a grain of salt.

Yuengling Lager! If only Misissippi would sell it.
In FL now, just saw a bunch of Yeungling. I'd make that trade.<div><div>
</div><div>Also bought all of the Strawberry Abita they had.</div><div>
</div><div>But, this was the first time I've had Strawberry Abita..... took me a drink to come around to it, but it's really not worth the hype. It's good, though.</div><div>
</div><div>Try Blue Moon's Spring Blonde beer out now- THAT's good.

But is actually bottled in Tampa. My boss is from PA and introduced me to it. I will have to try the Spring Blonde. One I'm not a fan of is IPA.

With my mind on beer, I'd pay $15-20 for a 6 pack of Smuttynose right now. That is all.

I bootlegged some Arrogant Bastard Ale from TN over the weekend. I now have a new favorite beer, and will be heading back to Memphis this weekend for more. Has anyone else tried it?

They sell it a lot in AL and FL. I've had it.... it's okay, but others love it. To each his own. <div>
</div><div>Definitely try the Spring Blonde though. Unless you're in Jackson, then get the hell way from it- I like having it always be in stock.</div>

What gameday sticks do you Abita Strawberry connoisseurs recommend? A nice pack of Capri or Virginia Slims 120s?

And yeah, they are. I tried to buy beer after work last November because I needed a good buzz to handle the results.

People can call me all the names they want. I love the stuff after I've been working in the yard. Chill on the patio and admire a job sort of well done.

I am sure your partner appreciates you keeping the yard sort of looking nice too.

Itpleases methat society as a whole has progressed to the point that men can openly enjoy soccer, cycling, and strawberry flavored beerand be proud of it!

~Cheers!

Two in PA, and one in FL. It's a good alternative to Budweiser.
Sierra Nevada is about to open another brewery in NC. I am sure it saves money on shipping.

My favorite style is a dark IPA, and they make the best there is - Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale. You should try it if you like Arrogant Bastard. The oak-aged arrogant bastard is also awesome - but it is like $18 a six-pack.

I'll add that to the list to look for. I was told to grab the double bastard if I could find it. Sierra Nevada is my favorite brewery with Sam Adams being a close 2nd mostly because of the MS Beer laws and limited choices. If the other Stone Brewery offerings are as good as Arrogant Bastard then I'll be making regular trips to TN to buy my beer from now on.

From my experience, people who drink a lot of different beer don't seem to care for it that much. Those who drink watered down domestics think it's awesome.

typically, yuengling isone of the first beers that people who only drink domestics branch out to try. They usually like it because they don't realize that it is pureshit just like the bud, miller, and coors.

So if you live in Rankin County, then you are out of luck.. We like to our drank in Jackson, come on across that river..
So you can have a shot at a restaurant in Flowood, but can't buy a sixpack at the store... Smart law there...

<span style="font-weight: bold">Can alcoholic beverages be sold on election day?</span>
Sales of alcoholic beverages are not limited or restricted on
election days. Local governments cannot restrict the sale of alcoholic
beverages by package stores or on-premises ABC permittees on election
days. Beer sales on election days may be restricted by a local
ordinance.
