I was sure it was the holes. But without it being one of us, NC State?
You got it @LetsGoDuke301. NC State was the first ACC school to win consecutive ACC regular season championships and ACC Tournament championships. They were ACC regular season champions in 1955 and 1956 (they shared it with UNCheat) and they were ACC Tournament Champions in 1954, 1955 and 1956.

This is a side note from the book "the legends club" Valvano said when he would go to Carolina he always laughed at all the banners and one day he was looking real close and saw small print on the bottom of some ACC championship ones.. He asked about it and was told it said *4 way tie for 1st* and he laughed and said when he got back to Raleigh he was going to get banners made that said ACC champs and in small print put *almost*

I am not going to be around this evening. I will forfeit my turn if you guys want to keep the train rolling. If not, I will come up with something tomorrow morning.

Marty Clark? Can't think of any single digits before him.

No, I can't believe no one has it. I though it would be answered right off. You guys are thinking too hard. I'll give you a hint and make it easier four you. OFC

I've tried to avoid answering questions.

But let me add some Everett Case stuff.

He and State actually won 9 of 10 conference tournaments, his first six in the Southern Conference and then the first three ACC Tournaments.

The loss? Dickie Hemric and Wake Forest beat State 71-70 in the 1953 SC tournament title game. Think about that. One basket away from 10 straight tournament titles. Yikes.

He also coached at least four future ACC head coaches; Vic Bubas, Norm Sloan, Bucky Waters and Les Robinson.

Of course, Vic Bubas had five assistant coaches at Duke and all five became head coaches somewhere else. Two of them are in the hall of fame.

Anybody want to take a shot at this one?
