Heratige Inn on 278, not far from River Birch Golf Course. He started out in an old shack just down the street. He still cooks in his old pit outside. He just moved it to the back of the inn.
My12 year no-vomit streaknearly ended after eating Bishops one night. My wife wasn't so fortunate.
Ate at Eli's one night a few years ago and it was the most disgusting BBQ I've ever had in my life.
I love living here in Tupelo, but there are literally no BBQ joints I would highly recommend to anyone. What I've gotten from Romie's, PapaVs, andJim's has been what I would rate as average. I'd rate Ribshack below those three. Maybe I've just had bad luck or none of these fit my style.
Not a big fan of Elis or the Rib Shack. Of course, I have only tried the pulled pork from both of these. Haven't ventured out to try their ribs yet. But wasn't overly impressed with the pulled pork at those 2 or Bishops. I did like Jim's pretty well. I have eaten the ribs at Romies and they were pretty good. It's depressing when the best ribs in town may be at Chilis
