I watched the first episode of season 2. It took me two days because it was so awful, but I wanted to see what was going on. Hated it. Saw this thread, and decided maybe I should go back and watch season 1 on Netflix. Could not make it through the entire first episode.

I'm glad to know its a graphic novel. That explains why there is a fan base.

The series starts out okay. The Sheriff sees a little girl from behind, she turns out to be zombie, and he shoots her in the head. Makeup on the girl was terrible, but its a good way to start the series.

Next we have the Sheriff and the deputy sitting in their car talking about women. Virtually unwatchable. Dialogue bad, actors bad, accents bad. I watched the whole scene just to see how terrible it could get. It was so bad, it could easily become a cult classic among theater geeks. I watched another 20 minutes after that, but just couldn't take it.

In the comic, Jenner tells Rick that a bite is not the only way the disease can be transmitted. People who were killed and had not been bitten or scratched by a zombie would reanimate.

I didn't know there was a graphic novel till today, but I love the show. (My other favorite shows are Breaking Bad, Haven,Dr. Who, Fringe, Bored to Death)

The accents are actually MUCH better than most shows set in the south. Every time my girlfriend has Trueblood on TV I just want to rip my ears off.

The slowpaced human scenes are pretty good, but more importantly necessary to what the show is. If you want a nonstop action, bloody and gorey for 90% of every episode, this is not for you. This is a survival show. A human drama, with zombies of course, but they're only equal as important as the interpersonal relationships you need to make a show like this lasting and interesting.

If I wanted a zombie flick where all the main characters got eaten within 2 days, I'd watch movies. Can't do that in a show with longevity.
