They are still capable of playing some beautiful offensive basketball...they put some kind of 20-1 run on Providence last night that was just amazing to watch. But it wasn't a knock out blow because they won't or can't get defensive stops or rebounds.

With the right matchup they can win a game in the tournament but this is a very ordinary team without Watson.

As long as McDermott is the coach. Creighton will never make a deep run in the tourney, year in and year out its the best defensive teams that make it to the end and Creighton is not one of those teams.

We'll never know, and that sucks, but if they had stayed healthy this year I think he would have proven you wrong.

You're totally wrong, if Watson wouldn't have went down they had a potential elite 8 team..

Obviously you don't know how important a very good point guard is. He was leading in assist and a leader in steals.

Now that's what you call a fall from grace right there. Damn I hate to read that. I hate reading about blessed kids like Gregory and now Watson throw it all away. Assuming it's true, what a waste of an amazing opportunity.
Of course one just likes to smoke weed way too much, and the other is at least right now accused of being a total piece of garbage d-bag who committed rape. So just that little bit of difference there.

Nick Bahe spent 2 or 3 days on his show eulogizing Watson after he was injured. I'm guessing he spent a lot less time talking about this today.

Bahe is fooling only Bahe with his performance.

I hate to see such talented people throw away their opportunity, especially at such a young age. Wasn't even remotely trying to equate the seriousness of one to the other. What you said goes without saying, but I probably should have expected somebody to say it.

Agreed it is a bad deal but if it is any consolation Mo Watson had zero chance to make it in the NBA...he might have made a few bucks overseas though. Either way....too bad for all involved.

Lots of kids who a lot of people think have "zero chance to make it in the NBA" are drafted in the first round and make guaranteed bank, only to never be heard from again. Or if drafted in the second round make the league min. and hang around for a few years and draw a nice check. Bottom line, he would have made some nice coin somewhere, at least for a while, and now that opportunity is gone.

I don't think he would have been drafted but he would have had a shot like Petteway...either in the summer leagues or D league. Quite the conundrum for the holier than thou fanbase. They are quick to throw dirt on any Nebraska program/player that has issues but when it hits home their stance sure does change fast.

Severe lack of Twitter chatter from the douchey Omaha sports media. If this had happened at NU, those clowns would be all over the warrant being issued, and blaming everyone but the actual culprit (coach, administrators, etc.)

News outlets are saying he is in route from Philadelphia to Omaha as we speak.

With the injury he has it had to be really tough to pull off what he is accused of. Man what a dumb move

Way to go World Herald. Write up that story, and then have a slideshow of him under the story (of him as a member of a basketball team). I am all for innocent until proven guilty, but his basketball career is the most unimportant thing right now.
The facts will hopefully come out either way, but I found that a bit tasteless. But I don't expect much from them anymore.

Well, Bahe spent about 30 seconds on the situation in his opening monologue this morning and then basically said that's all he was saying about it. I'd be interested to see how much time he spent on the Armstrong situation last fall.

You don't like an uninformed clown laughing at his own "jokes" the whole time? I tried listening to him exactly once while driving in Omaha last year. It was excruciating.

To be fair, one of those is proven and one is just allegations as of now.

So this is what I heard from some very connected people at Creighton. Supposedly the victim is Watson's girlfriend, had been dating for a couple months, he pissed her off for whatever reason and now she is claiming he forced her into having sex with him. The term "crazy b****" came up quite a bit. Not saying Watson is innocent, not saying he is guilty either. Just reporting what I heard.

Update 2/26/17:
The U.S. Marshals Service and the Omaha Police Fugitive Unit continue to look for Mr. Watson. At this point in time, Mr. Watson is dodging law enforcement efforts to arrest him. Until he is located and arrested by law enforcement, or turns himself in, the entire Douglas County Court system is operating off of Mr. Watson's time frame.

Neither OPD nor the Douglas County Attorney's Office is part of any specific arrangements for Mr. Watson to turn himself in.
