I do it (the gym one) right when I get there. After a workout, wouldn't your body lose water and you would weigh less than at home?
I'm going to guess the one at the gym needs an adjustment. At the gym 100+ people jump on that thing every day. It's got to be off as it is mechanical and takes a beating. I recently noticed that at the doctor's and emergency room the scales are similar looking to the mechanical ones but they are all new electric scales.I do it (the gym one) right when I get there.
That’s what I figured too. But I do make the adjustments to zero it out.I'm going to guess the one at the gym needs an adjustment. At the gym 100+ people jump on that thing every day. I’ve gone as high as a 25lb dumbbell and plates to see if that could be the issue for both. Also the margin of error may not be that big the 5 lb dumb bell, but assuming you weigh more than 5 lbs, the difference is exaggerated.
Of course. Always. LOLTake the lower number.
Or you can wait until the prices drop to the moon and weigh yourself there. You'd slim down to 30 or 40 pounds. That’s what I figured too. But I do make the adjustments to zero it out. I’ve gone as high as a 25lb dumbbell and plates to see if that could be the issue for both.
Of course. Always. LOL And that’s the one at the gym.

ahhhh.. so someone put a hidden camera in his bathroom! The camera adds 10 pounds to you.
Like a funhouse mirror. The gym scale is fixed so you weigh less and think you're getting great results there.
Depends on when you weight yourself during the day. My weight can fluctuate by 3-4 pounds in a day. Clothing and watch can add another 2-3 pounds. 10 pounds might be too much. Your lightest weight would be after you wake up since you didn’t eat for several hours. I can lose a pound a day but I don’t eat breakfast and cut calories to around 1,200 A day.Why do they differ?
I zero/adjust them both to 0. I then put a 5lb dumbbell on each and they both say 5lbs.
But my bathroom scale (digital/solar) says I am ~10lbs more than the one at the gym (the type you’d see in drs. office - dial/mechanical).![]()
And always weigh yourself in the morning after cardio and fasted! That gets another 2-3.5 points lower.Take the lower number.
