OT before our game today... Kayaking in the Rez

in the morning and you've got 2 vehicles park one at Tommy's and take the kayaks up to Ratliff's Ferry and float back to Tommys, again only if the gators don't concern you, which they shouldn't unless you get off on a sand bar and venture into the unknown. If its on the weekend and some weekday afternoons don't even think about it, the ski boats going upriver are too dangerous.
is a good spot to put in at and mess around. You used to be able to go up through the creek, but it was impassable the last timeI went about a month ago. Vegetation had grown up too much. You're going to see alligators, but they usually don't mess with you.
Canoe this area all the time. Full of gators though, but they don't bother you. It us full of kayakers on the weekends. Another place to put in is at the HYW 25 bridge near Holly Bush and paddle toward Pelahacthie. Again, don't let the gators freak you out, the last thing you want to do is end up in the water with them. Unfortunately I have never caught any fish in this ares.
I would never take my kids in canoes near gators. I know that they never bother anybody but they are still wild animals and I don't trust them. Plus I suck at canoeing, I will flip that bastard in a minute. We got big gators down here on the pearl
is probably a good idea, I would imagine most people replying with advice in this thread are experienced inkayaking.
We put in at the Trading post on 471 and paddled up stream towards and a little past the Hwy 25 bridge and back. Saw only 1 gator that we were aware of. Couple other kayakers out fishing, but pretty much had it to ourselves. Decent little run for a quick trip after work.
