I have been watching home improvement / fixer upper shows for a long time ON TV. I have watched This Old House since Bob Vila. It annoys me so much that all these shows and their "designers" almost always refuse to put up a TV. If they do they want to hide them behind something. They always talk about a reading nook. I just want to say:

Morons, the reason you are making the money that you do is BECAUSE of TV. You should be celebrating the TV. You should show us a TV can be designed and celebrated into any space.

I just watched one today where there were two huge flat screens in the living room and a hangout basement with seating that was pointed to the TVs and neither room even ended up a with a TV in it. And in the basement the term Sports Bar was mentioned. It should have ended up with 3 TVs.

Oh man, this brings back memories from when we bought our first house back in ‘07. I was in my mid-20s, and the only things on my mind throughout the process were where I was going to sleep, where the grill was going, and where we’d put the big screen.

Well, as MiLs seemingly always like to do, mine gave her unsolicited opinion on more than one occasion that “the TV should NOT be the centerpiece of any room!!!” I just ignored it for awhile like usual, but by the 5th time, I finally said back to her that I didn’t know who came up with that rule, but the fact of the matter in 2007 is that TVs ARE the centerpiece of a den/LR. More power to those that want to hide them, but our family has the TV on 90% of the time that we’re home, and it’s ridiculous to go through a ton of trouble trying to hide the damn thing

When they invent a TV that is an entire wall, then the problem is solved.
I've often said this, I want to have a tv capable of being able to stand beside a player and it be their actual height. Also, I believe this already exist but it's nowhere in my budget at the moment, but it is only a matter of time.
