I don’t doubt there is a lot to be cut in multi trillion dollar government. I also doubt that someone who knows very little coming into it, is cutting the right things in a very short amount of time. WFH or work from the office means little for anyone over 25. Anyone worth a **** above entry level in a white collar setting can get their work done wherever.
Extended ask to @T2Kplus10 how is it Elon can be the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Neuralink while also being the sometimes head of a government department and other times tweeting several times a day, but demand everyone works from an office?

Conspiracy theory: Trump is driving down price of BTC to allow all his cronies and bros to pile in right before he announces crypto initiatives.

That's fair. I would have preferred 60-90 days of assessment before the cuts.

Part of the WH discussion about crypto involves "stablecoins."
Many stablecoin discussions have crypto backed by US dollar.

But some experts think part of the gold flight from London to NY could be in preparation for seized US crypto stores to be gold backed (and the gold marked to market). The historic size of gold transfers amped up right after in inauguration. Most articles say its due to fear around tariffs but that fear could have happened after election day.

The executive order over crypto also bans work on CBDC.

Executive order could solidify stablecoins’ payments future

FYI - Coinbase's futures market just reopened (closed most of the weekend) and obviously SOL contracts gapped up big-time. I'm up about 80-90%. HODL? :)
Tough call. I personally think there’s a high probability that this summit Friday will end up being a sell the news event. But on the small chance that it’s not, there’s a lot of room for Solana to continue running.

This is a very good point. Expectations are sky high now. Unless the reserve is formally announced and not just "we are working on it", the summit may cause a pullback (even a modest one). Obviously, futures are for trading, so I am fine with booking profit and redeploying. With the rally, I almost can recreate my former SOL position (in terms of # of coins).

Update - I trimmed my position in half. At 3x.....easy come, easy go.

This makes no sense. A lot more people are invested in the stock market compared to crypto. There is already a backlash from people for Trump pushing crypto other than BTC. Upside here is limited.
Portnoy obviously joking. However, other crypto enthusiasts are not joking in calling out Trump for trying to include garbage in the strategic reserve to make his family and friends rich. BTC is one thing. But come on at least past presidents tried to hide their corruption

Are shitcoins edible? Might be a new marketing gimmick for a shitcoin when the price of potash wrecks all of our farmers.

Bitcoin maxis complaining that it’s more than just Bitcoin is predictable. I agree a Bitcoin only reserve makes most sense, but I can also make the argument for including more. If they want to on-shore more crypto companies and bring more crypto innovation back to the US, then making it broader would make sense.

Market not happy, they wanted confirmation of more purchases. This is a much more measured approach imo

Most important part of the announcement:

"The Secretaries of Treasury and Commerce are authorized to develop budget-neutral strategies for acquiring additional bitcoin, provided that those strategies have no incremental costs on American taxpayers."

This could mean selling gold to buy additional BTC.

I stupidly bought $1k of some stupid coin called BONK per some people on this board. I bought it at .000025 per coin and now it's down to .000012, so cut in half. I'm guessing I should abandon ship, but does anyone know if this dumb coin has any actual utility or future?

This is why I don't do crypto

When crypto goes up, all coins tend to go up. Bitcoin rises all boats. If you can, I would wait for the next tweet that will artificially pump the market, but be quick to sell before the dump.

Good idea since there is always another pump. That's the nature of the crypto market.
