did Greg have a lot of 4 or 5 stars in 06? How many stars did the McCourty twins have?

Cignatti at Indiana is 23-2 for the last 2 years without any 4 or 5 stars. It's called coaching!
Incorrect.
Just curious, what was your former screen name that you always used to bash Schiano all the time??

Michigan State is on deck to go from worst to first with lots of money to spend.

You missed the point as usual. Stars don’t mean much. A better gauge is how many NFL players does he have.
No don't care my point is are you winning. Really don't care how many NFL players you have

Coaching, yes, and the transfer portal, which required some NIL, where he loaded up on talented guys.

It's called a lot of money, free agency every year with good coaching. Don't act like he's not pulling top talent out of the portal. Cuban gave him plenty of money to play with.
He turned George Mason around. Did the same at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, & at Elon. Completely turned losing programs around. Record of 142-37 as a head coach. It's called coaching.

Star rankings out of HS are not meaningless for sure but it doesn’t necessarily predict success in major college football. What IU was able to do is have the $$$ resources to sign players who proved that they were very good players at this level. There is no doubt that Cignetti and his staff have done a great job with the assembled parts.

Several liberal posters on the,off topic board got beaten to a pulp there, took a short vacation, and came back with new names there, and here

I think that is why they use.their new
names.here

IIRC the McCourty's were 2 stars known for hoops. AD was a 5 star I believe. When Greg had a lot of 4 stars was just before he left for the NFL.

Sorry, I meant to post James Madison. Point is still the same & valid.
of course it's coaching

the fact that he has no 4 or 5 stars and is beating the pants off people is coaching, scheme, great personnel evaluation, and demanding excellence. His routines and approach are excellent. They used NIL to get kids that he thought would work there and for him. NIL was important but as we've seen with ridiculous amounts of evidence, NIL is not the panacea that many here think it is (mostly out of defense of Ash 2.0)

Why? Because Cignetti is an expert at finding and evaluating talent.
See the first post in the thread and you'll see the sarcasm in my post. Everyone wanted Mendoza, he was one of the top 3 QBs in the transfer portal last year. There was no master evaluator in this one.

True. But the man has proven not only can he coach, but he can evaluate talent on every level he coached and even as an analyst at Alabama.

He is obviously a good to great coach- but if you think that record can be judged like a HC that recruited 2-3 stars from highschool and developed them - then that is just foolish. Money Money Money - Hell, they just replaced a transfer Heisman winner with a $7 Mil QB...
