Stay with it. I'll not spoil anything, I'll just say buckle up.

Not to hijack but since we have a TV thread.
Finished Welcome to Derry and really liked it. Anybody else watch.
Just got into Pluribus, not what I expected from Gilligan but I am enjoying it. Rhea Seehorn is throwing 101 mph in the acting department.

Fantastic show. I think it was episode 5 that really hooked me.

There are some really useful charts on Wikipedia about the show, but they're full of spoilers for later episodes.

For Dark - is the language dubbing distracting or is it pretty good and kinda seamless feeling?

Some of the Euro shows that look interesting are a hard pass for me when the preview plays and the dubbing is all over the place or the voice tone doesnt at all match the scene.
Shows from Spain and the Nordic languages/countries stick out as being the worst offenders.

Yes, it’s very good. Reddit has some character info and family tree graphics that you can view by season and episode so to avoid spoilers.
I finished the entire show last month, and it’s probably the most enjoyable thing I’ve seen in years. I still think about it regularly.

I honestly preferred to watch with the original audio and subtitles. I tried it both ways but that’s what I stuck with after the third episode. I probably would be able to speak German if there were a few more seasons.

I've binged Downton Abbey since Thanksgiving. Just thought I'd give it a shot for I like historical drama and period pieces. I was pleasantly surprised and absolutely loved it. My wife watched an episode with me while doing laundry and she got hooked. Waiting on her to finish the series so we can watch the movies together.

Pluribus is good. Binged first season. Same guys that did Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Totally different story line. Not crime related.

Mrs Peeper was watching it one rainy Sunday afternoon and I watched some episodes with her and really liked it. But, after watching a week or so after than (like maybe half a dozen episodes) I just couldn't get past the pomp and circumstance, aristocracy, kiss the Queens hand BS that they along w/ the entire country did and still do and had to stop watching.
I used to watch a lot of tennis and during Wimbledon would see EVERY PLAYER come out and bow/curtsy to the Royal Box. That's BS, they aren't the Queen or King or Prince or whatever to all those players

We really enjoyed that too. Just got that final movie to go.

SPOILER, so be warned

That chart at the end wasn't a flow chart it was a spaghetti diagram, a very wet noodle spaghetti diagram.

Want to try that one (Dark).
I thought Welcome to Derry was ok. Recently binged/rewatched Stranger Things and Fallout to get ready for new seasons.

I kept starting Dark at night while going to bed and would fall asleep. About 3 episodes in I realized I had no idea what was going on and stopped watching it.

I can't explain why, but it's one of my biggest pet peeves with TV. There's a really good Spanish(I think) bank heist show on Netflix that I also had to stop watching after the first season because I just couldn't deal with the dubbing anymore.

If you're into the suspense/mystery genre, I think you've got to force yourself to push past it with Dark, but it's definitely annoying.

I’m typically a subs over dubs guy, but I like to watch with subtitles even when it’s in English.

I also find it distracting when the lips don’t line up or the tone doesn’t quite match the facial expression.

Ha, I watched that exact Spanish bank heist show a few years ago. Don't remember if I finished it or not- the dubbing was so distracting!

Same. It’s far more natural to me keeping the original audio and just read subtitles.

Watched Dark several years ago and I’d like to rewatch. Honestly so convoluted that it would basically be like watching a brand new show
