Thanks for revealing that you have zero understanding of science and clearly didn't read my posts on the pandemic. I actually predicted almost every major element of the pandemic correctly after mid-Feb 2020 and shared countless peer-reviewed scientific articles explaining just about everything related to the virus and the pandemic and could share all of those posts with you by IM if you like, but can't here, as we've all been asked to not make COVID posts. I wish that were not the case, but I don't make the rules.

The messages are probably on the way to the Special Moderating Operation as we speak.

"I tried to help our beloved landscaper drag his political battles to the football board after those tapes hurt his feelings, and big bad Numbers hurt my feelings! Ban him at once! Oh and also, cancel culture is destroying America, my co worker's son's ex-wife's cousin had a student loan while drinking white claw which qualifies me as an expert in economics, law, the pandemic, and foreign relations!"

I understand what their concerns are and how it relates to the big picture in their view (I don't necessarily agree with them all the time), but the constant injection of that argument into unrelated threads is tiresome. They know better, yet it continues and it is allowed. I mean, how do you manage to F-up a thread about pizza?

I'd understand their concerns better if they didn't falsely claim pizza was being made illegal while trying to ban AP Psychology from high schools, but hey.

Like I said, they could literally take out the one poster who brought up a political point re: NYC in a thread on NJ pizza. It would be a move supported by 95% of the people who post on this board. However, it would be supported by none of the people who say things like "pizza is illegal" while being protected by the mods. So here we are.

Here's a good example. It seems to be a thing with Jersey and Rutgers fans? I mean, who could get upset about $1 pizza slices? But the amount of complaining and vitriol in that thread is puzzling. And people crapping on Pizza Hut, who stepped up and rented a kiosk and agreed to the promotion, which will likely generate a lot more work than profit. Yeah, I get it, there are better pizza alternatives in NJ. But none that stepped up to rent a kiosk at SHI stadium or that offered $1 Pizza slices.

But tying the two threads together, maybe NYC can make a law that all pizza joints in the city must be Pizza Hut. That would solve part of the obesity crisis as people would stop eating pizza.

While I am guilty of railing about pizza macros, it's been such a long time since I have had Pizza Hut, I may stop buy and grab a $1 slice while at the game and thank them for supporting Rutgers football.

I agree. I checked out of that thread early when it turned that way. What did everyone expect? Only a large chain was going to be able to support that type of promotion. I certainly didn't expect Pepe's or La Strada in my town to do it. They would go broke.

The pork roll/Taylor Ham threads get salty too.

The mods should ban all discussions on salty and unhealthy foods. Seems to bring out the worst in people.

BTW, I don't really see the issue raised by the guy who originally railed against the coal fired pizza regulations as something coming from just one side of the aisle. We see this nonsense from both sides, and then when one side makes a stupid law or regulation, the talking heads from the opposing side gaslight the heck out of the item, not realizing that their side is equally stupid on other issues. But that's where we are in today's world. It's a sad divide and conquer mentality.

Excuse me now while I go to get my Pizza Hut full sized Meat Lover's Pizza and a pork roll and cheese sandwich with extra cheese and ketchup and a Big Gulp of regular Coke and a Slurpee. Got to get my macros in!

Who wants to go back to the office? Boomers?

Oh...and crime is lower than it was under that the disbarred drag queen.

But a bunch of people on message board have twaddle of the mouth because their propaganda networks have scared them from their once a decade venture into the city to see the Rockettes and eat at the Times Square Olive Garden.

People who don't want Manhattan to go down the tubes should want people back in the office at least 2-3 days a week. And Wall St., run by not only Boomers but also Gen X and even some early Millenials seem to think it's a good idea. And if you don't want to see a borough full of empty storefronts you should too.

Don't know why I bother but you are telling this story about yourself, to yourself, that is just simply not true. But if that floats your boat, keep floatin'.

Some people are making noise about the nonsense promulgated by our governmental authorities on food. Hopefully that noise will be heard, and people will learn. But with the grip that Big Food and Big Pharma has on politicians of all parties, it will be difficult.

It's OK, Big Pharma will save us, because obesity is a "disease" now, according to some medical experts. Remember, for Pharma, every condition is a nail, and every nail gets treated with a pharma hammer. Adjust diet, and none of this nonsense would be needed. Don't follow the bad advice provided by the government.

I saw a new study the other day that said excercising too hard makes your risks of stroke higher

People paying attention yet?

Currently available in FL are bagels that are boiled in NY, then flash frozen and shipped to FL and kept in a freezer. Customers order them online for next day pickup. That morning the bagels are locally baked in an oven and picked up hot and fresh. It works very well.
I freeze fresh bagels on a regular basis.
Quick thaw/steam in microwave then toaster oven to crisp up the outside. Works like a champ.
Going down to Fla in a couple weeks and will bring along a couple dozen fresh for the family. Top request from the transplants.

I believe the study was focusing on individuals with carotid artery plaque build-up. Not the general population. But studies are just that, studies. I don't think any physician or cardiologist would advise people not to exercise and live sedentary lifestyles. It's just that certain at-risk individuals may need to be monitored or monitor their workouts more closely. Believe it or not, I actually met a patient who was told that this may have been the reason for his heart attack - cardio boot camp.

There are always those that look on trying to improve something as progress.
There also are those that feel status quo is the only way and progress upsets them, even if it means improving something.

As for coal fire ovens being upgraded, city might be wise to give the places that do it tax breaks and a rebate program to ease the financial burden upgrading the ovens cause the businesses ordered to make thir coal fire ovens compliant with the new rules

You don't have to, you could just look in the mirror and see the money flushed at a terrible private school that now goes to answering SOS calls from a landscaper trying to politicize a football message board.
Angry as ever I see.
And the highly ranked private school was free. Wrong as usual. Now back to not wasting time with you.

So it was indeed the specific study Pete cited.

And you did in fact lie in your first post.

So what is it people are supposed to be "paying attention" to, exactly?

Certainly not you.
He didn’t “see the study” and he surely didn’t read it. He read one person’s take on the study. Huge difference. And he didn’t even understand that.

If you've ever been to a football game in this state, you won't have to worry about people over exercising

Btw, when is Rutgers going to drop the mandate already? Only about 12 Universities are still requiring it, it's clearly not about public health at this point.

As much as almost everyone loves pizza, it is a food macro disaster. High in processed carbs (flour), most tomato sauces have tons of sugar, and mozzarrella cheese is high in saturated fat. Protein macros are nearly non-existent, and if you add the usual "meats", most are processed and full of nitrates. Probably worse than smoking cigarettes for some people.
My post wasn't actually about the Pizza. I eat it like twice per year, it's the bureaucratic overreach I have a problem with. Banning coal-fired ovens makes no difference environmentally, it's just the next step in eliminating New York culture and furthering it's decay..
