Bad management? No one wants a "healthy" burrito when you can go to Papitos or Margaritas? Crap location? Bad food? I personally loved it and I haven't met anyone that said they hated it.</p>

that the Flowood location closed/struggled because at the time they couldn't sell mixed drinks(margaritas) and it was their highest margin item. I know they had a huge lunch crowd but very little traffic in the evenings. I don't know about the other locations. Flowood was the first to close, I believe. I loved it too.

I always liked them if I was out of town, had no idea there was a location here much less 3 locations.

Mrs. Plan & I ordered out all of the time, but they were never busy on Lakeland. Also, that Lakeland location seems to be bad for restaurants. The NEJ residents are as close or closer to County Line & Ridegland (not to mention the NEJ options) and the reservoir folks are 10 mins+ away and have closer options. By that Kangaroo is a relative "no man's land" of residential housing.

I remember that it was a sort of corporate downsizing-type decision, supposedly. I guess they weren't franchises, but rather, were owned by the chain.

Bart: Yes... I'm looking for Miss Huggenkiss... First name, Amanda.
Moe: Uh, Amanda Huggenkiss? Hey, I'm looking for Amanda Huggenkiss! Ah, why can't I find Amanda Huggenkiss?
Barney: "Maybe your standards are too high"

Biloxi had a really good Moe's clone (Marig's), but it got bought out and turned into a sit-and-order Mexican restaurant a couple years ago.</p>

Get the Grande Burrito at La Guadelupe(sp?)on Old Canton. Then again, everything there is awesome (I'm looking at you Cubana sammich and pork tacos).

It was the most flavorless burrito I've ever had and I felt like I was ordering from the 17ing Honkerburger with their inside joke type of menu.<div>
</div><div>So my vote is for bad food.</div>

("major" meaning I could think of them off the top of my head) Moe's is way behind Chipotle and Qdoba.

The one in Huntsville went out of business. The guy running the place must have been a total dubmass because the place was always busy during the crucial lunch hours. Moe's is still open, which I don't get. I can't figure out how they get a burrito to taste so plain. Even the salsa there was like tomato sauce. I think people who rave about Moe's having good food don't actually like good food.

Agreed, Moe's is a distant third. Qdoba and Chipotle are very close in my opinion.

makes me forget about Moe's. There is one in Hattiesburg and Southaven. Don't know of any others.

I don't know what Moe's was like in Mississippi, but I gather it seriously sucked. Here in Atlanta, its pretty good. But Chipotle? I guess McDonald's divested their majority interest in Chipotle a couple years ago, but their influence remains. Their meat is nothing special, and they are seriously lacking in the toppings department. And they charge you for chips. Granted, I haven't been inside one in at least 4 years, but that's because I hated it so much.

It was franchised by the Newkcomb (sp?) family. It is the same people that took McAllister's concept and had it take off.

There new restaurant chain is Newk's. Some corporate stores and franchise the rest of it.

I heard a lot of the issues were no alchohol, bad corporate support for franchise, and bad business practices by Moe's.

I loved a good JC.

Freebirds is the only name that needs to be mentioned when discussing burritos. Mission is OK, but Freebirds blows them away.

For those of you who haven't had it, look 'em up next time you're in Texas. You won't be disappointed.
