what a horrible franchise. Not so good food served in a confusing mixed media dining room.

statements to come up with you conclusion, right? If so, you need to try to get up with Donald and let him know what a huge mistake he's making. If not, just be happy someone is spending some money in Starkville. I've never been to one, but I hope it works out for him and the city.

****** food in an awkward dining area? Yeah that exactly describes the one in Madison that closed down.

BOBrady's is ****-tastic food, but hell the following craptastic restaurants in Starkville make money: Applebee's, Christy's (it sucks, sorry people), Starkville Cafe, Overpriced Oby's, I'm assuming the new terrible Central Station Grill is profitable, and I'm sure I forgot a few.

And the "better than nothing" approach is partly why Hwy 12 is littered with eyesores such as ~15 title loan places, and a absolutely delicious BBQ place that looks like it belongs in Beirut. "Better than nothing" is not beneficial to Starkville, and it's evident the approach Starkville is taking or will be taking in the future is not that.

Good luck to Donald, I hope he succeeds, especially out on Stark Rd where there isn't as much competition.

There is one in Louisville Kentucky and the food is freaking awful. Like worse than cysco cafeteria food.

Giving him a pass on Christy's as just not his thing, the grill is the only one I've ever heard even mixed reviews about.

Add Veranda and Harveys to the **** list, last ribeye I ordered there I could almost see through it. Beef's is a greasy Sysco experiment gone bad. Went to the one in Madison once, never returned.

Anthony's (technically WP), Restaurant Tyler, Mugshots burger, Grumpy's, the old Grill, Petty's, Sonny's, Veranda. Hell BWW, Hardees, Lenny's and Newk's if we want to talk chains.

The aforementioned list is a group of restaurants that people may patron due to nostalgia, but they don't serve quality food.

He and his mom ate there for his birthday and he didn't like it. So the only conclusion is it's a horrible franchise. Sounds like you two could open some type of consulting firm.

who admits to never having been in a Beef 'O Brady. Seriously. The food is bad and the concept is worse. I've had the distinct distasteful experience to have eaten in 3 separate BOB's.

My only concern was for Donald Lee and his outlay of cash. I do not want anyone I know to lose money.

he is opening a place that focuses on cheap beer, wings, burgers and sportsin an SECcollege town full of young people from the state of Mississippi. A lot of the people on this board can turn their nose up to the food but Ithink his risk is mitigated by the population of individuals he is selling to.

especially with a vastly superior franchise (BWW) offering similar but higher-quality food/drinks/atmosphere right next to campus.

be sustainable for him.

You give me a place for cheap beer, burgers, wings, and a bunch of TVs when I was 21 years old and a broke *** college student and I would have been there. For example, someone pointed out Christy's in this thread. I absolutely hated that place when I lived there but I didn't move there until I was very late in my college career as a graduate student. I am pretty sure if I had been there at the age of 18 I would have loved it and talked about it like some people do on this board.

of course I'd like to see to see McDonalds replaced with Five Guys and a Shula's instead of Wendy's. What the 17 do you expect in animpoverished state? I bet the fact we are getting an LaQuintaabsolutelysickens you. Maybe we should hold out for a Wynn or 4 Seasons.

but other chain restaurants could do well there right in front of the movie theatre. I would rather have an O'Charleys or something because I'll definitely go to BWW over a similar place because their food is actually pretty decent. I wish they would add a place that has good rolls, can't find any decent bread in this whole 17ing town. And if they add any more fast food places, it needs to be a Steak-n-Shake.

It is one of the better "chain" places, in my opinion. Their wings are much better than BWW and the Waterson is a good sammich. Order some wings and ask them to coat them in the blackening seasoning before they fry them, then coat them with a mixture of the hot and the garlic-parm sauce. You'll thank me later.

ETA: The wings and Watterson are the only things I have ever eaten there, so the rest of the food could suck.

There really isn't anything else on Stark Rd either. Umi's was there and I think did well enough to warrant moving it. Be better than Applebee's, Zaxby's, and Mi Hacienda and you can be king on that part of town.<div>
</div><div>I've always thought any chainrestaurantcan survive IF the management is good.</div>

Pre-new buliding and post. I used to love it in the old building, but I just have never enjoyed myself in their "new" place. Maybe it's mental.

Also, the BBQ grilled cheese at Petty's is absolutely delicious. My only order there. Everything else ill choose Sonny's, friday-Sunday of course.

But like many ****** food places, they have a gimmick that makes them money. A great gimmick, too.

Virgil loves a coattail ride at Hoots, too.

The BWW here is the worst I've ever eaten at. The Halfway House blows BWW away with the quality of wings (far better beer selection too). I wish Dawg Wings was still open (was next to State Theater, that's where the beer towers were) because it was a really nice little place to pig out at. I'll never understand why that building can't stay in business.

I love Petty's too, btw.

I know a lot of people dislike Outback, but I like their bar set-up and their blooming onion or cheese fries with a tall draft beer is hard to beat.

The Beef O'Brady's in Thomasville, GA gets a lot of business. I will agree on the quality of most of their food, but their wings are very much above average and they actually have a couple of salads on the menu that are excellent IMO. They have a special that is running at all times: 2 people can get 24 wings, 2 baskets of fries, and 2 pitchers of beer for $25. BWW is better and in the much better location, but I would bet it is 2x as expensive as Beef's.

Of course, Thomasville, GA is much different from Starkville. I highly doubt I would ever go to Beef O'Brady's if I were still living in God's country.

Same family recipe though... with steak added to the menu. Still the best BBQ in the GTR.

My point previously was that Christy's is pretty much on par with Petty's. Similar menu, and either could be better on any given day. Consistency has always been their flaw.
