"King Nine Will Not Return" is the only one I ever saw but it seemed kind of haunting.

Turned out it was based on a true story of a plane (Lady Be Good) that crashed in Libya 1943. The crew had bailed out as fuel ran out. The plane went for another 15 miles before crashing. The crew tried to walk to the ocean but never made it despite some going 100 miles in 100+ heat and freezing nights. One guy kept a diary.

The crash was found by a geological survey crew. The bodies of dead men were located. The planes radio still worked. Had the crew walked in direction of the plane they could have ben rescued. The plane was inspiration for "Flight of the Phoenix" with Jimmy Stewart.
