OT: Driving from Metuchen to the Yellow Lot

I will be driving to the yellow lot this morning from Metuchen.

Is it faster to take the Parkway North to 22 West to 287 south (my usual route) or the Turnpike south to 195 to Route 1 North to 18 North (which my friend suggested)?

Always the option of Parkway south to 18 North.

That seems way out of your way. New Durham Rd to Stelton Rd would be only minutes.

Take 27 to 287 North. Get off at Exit 8 . Make a right onto Possumtown Road. Make a left on Centennial Ave. Take Centennial to Hoes Lane (Rt. 18). Make a right on Hoes. Take Hoes to Campus Road. Follow signs for Yellow.

He could squirrel his way from Metuchen to Stelton Road using all local roads but to me that's a PITA. He could also get off 287 earlier onto Washington Road but there are lights and local traffic.
