I'm trying to add another 20 amp breaker to my existing electrical panel and am having a little trouble. I have already run the wire from my new receptacles to the panel, but I need help connecting the wiresto the breaker in the panel. Does anyone know of a trustworthy electrician in the Madison/Jackson area?

Thanks

Did you wire up the receptacle? If so make sure the black is on the gold colored screw and the white on the silver. And the bare ground goes to the green ground screw.

If you can wire up the receptacle you can wire in the panel. Since you are not experienced, turn off the main. Stay away from the top lugs that come from the meter. They are hot. Install the breaker and wire the black wire to the breaker. Depending on your panel you may have a neutral and a ground bar. But they should be connected together. Wire the white to the neutral bar and ground to the ground bar of if there is only one wire both to it.

Another option. If you only added 1 receptacle why do you need a dedicated circuit for it. If it is not for a heavy load you can wire it onto one of the existing breakers. Wire the black (hot) to the breaker and neutral and ground as above.

All of this should take 15 minutes or less so why pay an electrician $$$$. They have to charge you a healthy fee to make it worth their while.

If you have any questions I'll pm you my email address here at work and we can discuss it from there. You can probably do this yourself.

Good luck
