All the megasites I know of are outside of Memphis.

Speculation is near T.O. Fuller state Park on the north end of Whitehaven. That will be an easy drive from Desoto County for the employees.

Any projections on impacts to Memphis? Taxes, jobs, and so on. All I've read so far is 1 percent increase to water usage and 5 on the tva/mlgw demand.

The old Electrolux plant is is a stones throw from TVA plant Allen. I have a feeling they will have a direct line running from the plant and MLGW will be out of the equation.

"Supercomputers like the one xAI building in Southwest Memphis need considerable electricity. The facility is less than a mile from the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Allen Combined Cycle Plant by car and it’s even closer as the crow flies.

Memphis Light, Gas and Water said there is enough electric capacity on its system and TVA’s for the project. Power to the supercomputer would be interrupted if the system is stressed.

“They’re working on that with Tennessee Valley Authority and our team to determine how much off-peak they can come when the demand gets high, and what the terms of that will be,” MLGW CEO Doug McGowen said."

Hey hey.. I worked at that plant for a brief time on contract. It was a fun dynamic of people that really don't like rules aimed at protecting them and a workforce that would have completely supplanted the "natives".
