or showing it in window for people to see , where they live
or showing it in window for people to see , where they live

Most people on my block have it flying every day. Sadly one of them has it flying over his PSU flagI can agree that the flag needs to be flown every day if one can do so, but how many do you know that fly their flag every day .
Some older Americans are patriotic but don't put up their flag everyday, but they try to make sure it's up on special days
Some neighborhoods just don't seem to be filled with flags on the fourth
As the years go on I see less and less every year
Many Americans make sure their flag flies on the days listed below, but are always proud of their country

I understand and applaud the spirit.. but can you imagine if every house did this? And how many would do so poorly? Not taking it in at night or not properly lighting it, etc etc.Is this real? I fly it every day unless it’s crazy windy. You shouldn’t wait until July 4th to show your pride in America.
You could have a light at the bottom of the flagpole pointed up towards the flag and then you wouldn't need to take it down every day.Legit question: Would you guys rather I flew the flag every day or follow the code? Proud of the flag but I don’t have time for another every day chore. So it’s either up every day and night, or it’s not up.
Not practical for my setup. You could have a light at the bottom of the flagpole pointed up towards the flag and then you wouldn't need to take it down every day.
I would say - follow the code.Legit question: Would you guys rather I flew the flag every day or follow the code? Proud of the flag but I don’t have time for another every day chore. So it’s either up every day and night, or it’s not up.
You are PROUD of the flag but you don't have the TIME for another EVERY DAY chore? I never have found it a chore to display the flag. Takes 2 seconds to raise it and bring it down every night.Legit question: Would you guys rather I flew the flag every day or follow the code? I feel what you think is right is what you should do.Legit question: Would you guys rather I flew the flag every day or follow the code? Proud of the flag but I don’t have time for another every day chore. So it’s either up every day and night, or it’s not up.

Seems like these forbidden uses of the flag are totally ubiquitous.I feel what you think is right is what you should do.
Flying the flag shows patriotism , but it doesn't mean you don't love your country if you do not..
If you just put your flag up on the special days that calls for flags to be flying that should be good enough.
If for physical or other reasons it might make flying your flag hard to do, don't fret, patriotism is in the heart and that's all you need to have love of Country .
Flying the flag is showing others, but your everyday deeds as a patriotic American show the love you have for your country best
Forbidden Uses of the American Flag
- It should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, drapery, or decoration, nor for carrying or holding anything.
- The flag, or its staff, should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. Nor should any picture, drawing, insignia or other decoration be placed on or attached to the flag, its staff or halyard.
- The flag should not be embroidered on cushions, handkerchiefs, or other personal items nor printed on anything designed for temporary use and discarded. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, or members of other patriotic organizations.
I barley have time to get my kids to bed and out the door in the morning as it is.You are PROUD of the flag but you don't have the TIME for another EVERY DAY chore? I never have found it a chore to display the flag. Takes 2 seconds to raise it and bring it down every night.
yes seems like when it comes to our flag, many don't understand how to honor it properly.Seems like these forbidden uses of the flag are totally ubiquitous.
Get a yardarm (like I have) or another set of clips and fly both.Every day, except on RU game day when I’m repping the R
Technically, the US flag is always supposed to be on the pole furthest to the left (from the perspective of where most will be viewing it from) and flags of other countries are supposed to be flown on separate poles at the same height and of the same size as the US flag.Get a yardarm (like I have) or another set of clips and fly both.
Have a 25 footer with a yardarm.
Top, Old Glory.
Sides, kid’s school when they are home on one side andon the other. 2’x3’.
Also have a Block R and a Fordham (Wife’s Alma Mater) when boys are back at college. Also 2’x3’.
All illuminated for night flying.
Also have clips on the main pole to have the Irish one flown below the US one.
And the US Flag is marine grade and super strong.
On top, above and bigger (3’x5’) than all others suffices.Technically, the US flag is always supposed to be on the pole furthest to the left (from the perspective of where most will be viewing it from) and flags of other countries are supposed to be flown on separate poles at the same height and of the same size as the US flag.
Well I'm just saying what the actual US flag code is, I don't know anything about Ireland's flag code or if they even have one. I'm not trying to chastise you either because we've probably all broken at least one of these rules, just pointing it out for the hell of it.On top, above and bigger (3’x5’) than all others suffices.
I’m of Irish decent, but not Irish. On my side of the pond my Country’s flag will be the dominate one…on top and larger than the rest. If the Irish embassy has an issue with this, ro donna.
(g) When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height. The flags should be of approximately equal size.
(e) The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.
(f) When flags of States, cities, or localities, or pennants of societies are flown on the same halyard with the flag of the United States, the latter should always be at the peak. When the flags are flown from adjacent staffs, the flag of the United States should be hoisted first and lowered last. No such flag or pennant may be placed above the flag of the United States or to the United States flag's right (viewer's left).
Oh, I know the rules. Especially the other countries one.Well I'm just saying what the actual US flag code is, I don't know anything about Ireland's flag code or if they even have one. I'm not trying to chastise you either because we've probably all broken at least one of these rules, just pointing it out for the hell of it.
While looking up the actual code, I found these two consecutive lines that seem to contradict each other. Does the US flag go in the center or on the viewer's left?
me too!I fly Old Glory every day
Reagan got rid of the rule that required thatHopefully, the guys who fly the flag every day take it down every night unless it is illuminated.
Rutgers is older so doesn't Rutgers flag get priority??Oh, I know the rules. Especially the other countries one.
But as explained, we ain’t in Ireland. And as you mentioned, the separate pole thing is completely impractical in the residential setting.
Commercial or Governmental? Yeah, do it right.
In the US of e5fdny (), Old Glory is the headliner here and always should be…be it a separate pole, bigger than the rest or higher than everyone else.
If I could get a real old skool Q flag, maybe.Rutgers is older so doesn't Rutgers flag get priority??
